I am sure Frankenstein will be really good, but I just can't understand "watching" live theatre from a cinema.....Just don't get it.... I rather sit in the nose bleed areas...

It's certainly cheaper than theatre prices and cinema seats (usually) are a lot of comfortable than theatre ones with way more leg room.

Also some parts of the theatre have really restricted views which can limit enjoyment of the show IMO.

Lord here you go again about london.... there's plenty of theatres in Scotland, Manchester, Brighton everywhere.......
It's just the difference between watching live theatre and watching what is a recording basically. It's not the same

Theatre shows often go on tour around the country and in fact the best theatre shows start at Edinburgh Fringe - nowhere near london.....

The particular show you mentioned is showing only in London with those two leads st present. Which is why they are showing in cinemas around the country. The two male leads will not be touring. This also applies to other shows being shown in cinemas. So take the attitude back please!

I am not talking about that show, I am talking about generally watching live theatre in cinemas

Watching a filmed play on the screen can never be a substitute for the real thing! Theatre is written for the stage and does not work the same way on the screen.
Also, watching a play in the theatre is a totally different activity.
And ... in the theatre you do your own editing. You choose whether you want to watch one actor the whole time, or not, and are not at the mercy of the film director/editor who choose for you.

Apart from the fact that if you have to p*y it is usually easier to find a cheap cinema ticket than a theatre ticket.

Its quite interesting that they are alternating the roles.

As for live V cinema. Obviously live is better, its amazing seeing a good play or musical but, if you can't get tickets or can't afford them, this is the best alternative. Actually the only alternative
