Morning guys

Just checking in before I hit the supermarkets..one list of healthy food plus a treat for taking the time to write the said list o/

I also have my ankle weights which i have been wearing around the house for the last two days......house work is jiggering but ankles are rather cosy :p

I went to Hull yesterday to see Tangled and noticed that the Orange phone shop have placed a horn outside their shop..i could feel the mischievous parts of me wanting to honk that horn. So armed with my two children as an excuse (one of which was dressed as a princess) we planned to give the horn a good old honk to the smiles of fellows shoppers who we guessed were not as brave and care free. With hands outstretched we approached the horn only to be beaten by two youths (about 12) who must have been avid watchers of vintage TV with Les Dawson. They fought over the horn, pushing and shoving (we so British queued up) squeezing the horn they shouted ooohhhh nickers, knackers, knockers whist gurning and pumping their arms, to the amusement of the fellow shoppers.

I realised at this point no amount of queuing with my children, who were getting very excited..(my son now a near perfect gurner) would result in any less of a scene, when two community Police Officers arrived to move US ALL ON 8O

I went quietly but my two youngest needed near dragging, they wanted their turns..they had waited in line, they had waited for their turn, in their minds they were going to have a go 8O ...and a princess (she even walks like royalty on her tip toes) with a large pink flower in her hair, bright red in the face and near spitting is not a pleasant scene, followed by my son gurning whispering knickers, knockers knockers as he knew I'd strangle him. The car park wasn't that far but yesterday it felt like miles away.

Today i am doing the shopping on my own basking in the glory that there are no Orange shops in our town..now any ideas how to stop my 9 year old son bouncing up and down singing knickers, knackers, knockers whilst. you guessed it, gurning :wall:

Anyway after the film today I walked back to Tesco, went round twice, once putting stuff in the trolley and then again taking all the rubbish out! So I only b*ght fruit and veg. forgot the milk though, rats!
I don't think that I'll qualify either as my girls are 17 and 20; does it count as being a parent as I have 2 10 year old cats

I too have been b*ying healthy food I even had natural yogurt (total 0% fat) on my fruit salad last night while the others had Haagan Daz vanilla ice cream!!

I would have loved to have seen allsinging and her children at the Orange shop, things like that have me in fits of laughter - I've always been a bit immature. Welcome back allsinging I'm still trying to get rid of the last 10lbs; shame I'm not about to have a baby like jmd1983 as 10lbs would a substantial weight for a baby and that is the excess that I have mainly on my thighs and buttocks. OMG I'm carrying the weight of a very large baby as excess weight 8O If that doesn't spur me on nothing will!

Hows everyone doing?

Got your goals set? Write those goals down, keep repeating them to yourself, that's your drive, dont overlook this element, its perhjaps the most important of all! Your goals must be material, or eventful. Not just "I gotta lose weight". Go for something that has a time frame. Goal such as a running event (last allsinging and myself had running events as intermediate goals), or fitting into a dress for a wedding event like Syd Bristow. Then wite down the weight you want to be and break them down into intermediate stages. So, say for example 3 stones in 3 months broken down to 1 stone each month.

And be realistic. 1 to 1.5lbs a week is your maximum realistric HEALTHY rate of weight loss. Even better you should be thinking FAT LOSS rather than weight loss. People can lose weight but the WRONG type of weight such as muscle (very bad) and water. Losing weight too quickly is unhealthy and furthermore, you will have lose skin (which you most definitely wouldnt appreciate!).

So you got your goals, now your action plan! First you need to assess how much calories you consume and simply reduce it. I am witnessing too many of you going to drastic measures of going on a diet but then when your diet finishes, you lose that rhythm and guess what, the fat piles on back with a vengenace. You dont have to go for these fad diets that you see advertised. They are not actually healthy and they are taking advantage of people who desperately want to lose weight. That's my opinion but I am a fitness professional now and I know how how they operate.

Adapt a healthy lifestyle for LIFE not a temporary fad diet.

So how? First, for one week, record everything you eat and drink. From what goes into your cornflakes, to how many sugars in your tea to how many glasses of fruit juice you have....every damn thing that goes in your mouth apart from air :)

Then make simple changes.

So if you have coffee/tea, milky with 3 sugars, reduce it to 1 sugar and go for a lower fat milk (from semi to skinned perhaps or from whole to semi). Instead of a chocolate bar, try a rice cake with low fat cottage cheese. Basically be AWARE of what you are putting in your mouth and think..."wait a minute, why am I putting a thornton chocolate in my mouth? I can have a glass of water or pepermint tea to stop my craving" and so on. I will post more elaboration on the changes you can make but start thinking smart. Make lower calorie healthier substitutions. At night if you feel peckish, instead of scoffing a scone or cheese on toast, have a glass of skimmed milk (only if you find yourself hungry).

And think about what exercise you are getting. Got stairs at work in the building, use them in stead of the elevators. When going home (and using pub transport). If you hitting the gym, dont just hit the gym, get a PROGRAM and follow it. And when you do workout, think about your goal, to really push your self and motivate yourself. If you get thoughts of "eh, I really dont feel like hitting the gym or walking home", think about how that goal gets further away because you just didnt "feel" like exercising...be passionate about your goals and everything else will fall into place.

AND DONT STARVE.

I'm hitting the gym in the next hour, I need to burn 2% fat I had put on over Christmas somehow! But I know I will, because being positive helps the body perform better...and there is a perfectly scientific explanation for it which I wont bore you with.

So what you are you guys up to today? Inspire us ;)

Wow guys, you know I started my last post 2 hours ago then left it, then returned to it, posted it not realising you guys were already truly on the balll...woohoo!

Alsinging, what a bizarre story invoving princesses, children, policemen and knickers! Love it but feeling sorry for your littles one who didnt get to honk that horn. As for those ankle weights, now that inspiring. What better way to get some extra resistance training without losing 1 second of your precious spare time!!!

Shopping is also key girls and boys, shop smart, read those labels. keep the Saturate Fat percentage low when possible.

Well as impatient as i am i couldn't wait so i signed up with WW last night...i have put all the stats in and officially its day two today.. :cross: Quidco will p*y the cash back

Does anyone know if you can attend classes too? Its the 3 mile walk to get to the classes i'm more interested in //it would be a great weekly commitment to this three month WW challenge

Tomorrow is back to the gym day, so i have dusted off and shaken out the cob webs from my trainers..I'm a bit nervous as the last time i was there i was much thinner and fitter :tears:

I'm going to have to take a deep breathe full of bravado and just get on with it...wish me luck :D

Good luck Allsinging, you'll be fine once you get there, half the people there are probably feeling just like you, I don't know that many people that confident in their shape whatever their size

I'm not doing so well this week, NYD dived into the cakes which was comfort eating, next day caught the kids tummy bug, couldn't eat a thing Saturday and most of Sunday but reached for the crisps in the evening, don't think I would of kept much else down, still couldn't face toast or anything. Still felt ill this morning, so ended up not eating til this evening when came back from kids swimming lesson and OH had made us chips, which I managed a few.....so much for healthy eating!!

Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel OK and get back on track!!
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
