Re: Limitless
Saw this today at a 70% full Liverpool 1 Odeon. Apologies to any fmukers who were there, as it was myself plus daughter who arrived some 10 minutes after the film had started. We had to use public transport this week and a journey that I can do in 20 minutes by car, took an hour.
Thankfully we managed to find 2 seats on the end of a row, having already removed our coats, put mobiles on silent and got drinks/sweets out of bag as we were running into the cinema and up the escalator. Why is it always the furthest room when you are running late?
Thanks judesmom for your earlier post, this was round-about what we had missed too. We chatted about this on the bus home, and came up with several possible scenarios including something similar to that one.
We both really enjoyed the film, quite a few little plot twists and turns to keep the interest going. As others had said, there were some unexplained scenes in the film, but for me they didn't detract only provide 'talking points' . I love to find out how others interpret particular scenes.
Didn't recognise Anna Friel in her fleeting role, it was only when I saw the credits that I realised who she played. Thought the face was familiar.
p.s Daughter would like some NZT as she has to finish final dissertation for this weekend.

lol thanks. thats pretty much what i thought must have happened but wanted to sure...Judesmom wrote:
Eddie's girlfriend broke up with him because he wasn't doing anything with his life basically. He'd been trying to write a book for awhile and still hadn't written anything. After she broke up with him over lunch (I think it was lunch, I can't remember) he was walking back to his apartment and ran into his ex-brother in law (brother of the woman he was married to for "five minutes" as the brother in law puts it) who ended up giving him one of the pills. He was dubious, but decided that things couldn't really get worse so he took the pill.maahin wrote:can someone tell me what happened in the first 10 minutes or so? Till the point he starts talking to the Chinese woman in his apartment building? I missed the beginning of the movie and want to know what I missed.
quite enjoyed it the film. it was fun enough, but not sure how i would feel about it if i had pa*d...
If I remember right the pill started taking effect right as the woman started talking to him. If I missed anything in there I'm sure someone else will come along and fill you in!
Were you by any chance at the Leicester screening? Someone came in and sat next to me at about that time.
and that wasn't me, I was at the Greenwich screening.

Re: Limitless
I watched this tonight at a packed Cineworld, Boldon. I thought that they might have to turn people away at one point.
The film was OK - too many little inconsistencies so that it didn't quite come together for me. I much prefer films where I can care about the characters but Eddie was not very likeable, was he? Bradley Cooper is always easy on the eye, and I noticed that he was one of the two executive producers of the film. Robert de Niro could have been used to better effect - he was along for the ride, lending his gravitas to a mediocre film.
I would also have preferred for a much different ending, given that he was subjecting his body to drugs, but think that there was a jolly nice-feel-good-ending, which was a total cop-out. Does this send the wrong type of message?
6/10 from me.
