Loved this. I fully agree with the above combinations of movies and genres. All spot on. I do think ET seems to be the strongest one though. I was waiting for the "hairs on the back of the neck" moment and I wasn't disappointed.
Saw this in a less than half full Edinburgh and unfortunately the film was spoiled for me by this oaf that sat and laughed loudly at inoppertune and inappropriate moments. He also jumped theatrically and exaggeratedly at every shock moment. Very off-putting. Wish marjoreemarjora was there - she'd have told him where to get off! Lol. Big thanks to her for the ticket.

I'll give it a good 8.5/10

9.5/10 o/
i too thought the score was great and indeed the pre-existing pop tunes! loved it! it was really great!

i really enjoyed the film too and thought the actors were great. really reminded me of a combination of Stand by Me and ET somehow, just the general feel of it all, the group of friends, the bicycle riding...

would like to see this one again i think :)

8.5/10
I am SO seeing this again next week (Apollo), you are welcome to be my +1 :)

everybody speaking about "Stand by me".... no idea what this is (we do translate movie tittle in French and this one does not ring any bell!); I shall IMDB it :D

i really loved the film and thought it was really good and thought the story line was good but was a bit rushed towards the end

sad really that at greenwich there was no popcorn which was a bit of a dissappointment
and i had a man who had really stinky nachos which wasnt the greatest start to the film

You MUST have seen Stand by Me! Bestest ever film! Ever, ever! Lol.

I'd be surprised if its title was translated though as the theme music is "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King (obviously).

You'll be able to get it on dvd for buttons I'm sure.

I saw this tonight at an 80% full Odeon in Milton Keynes. I thought it was slow to start with. I would not go to see it again. 7/10

Great fun to watch, it had Spielberg all over it, good mix of action and humour, and the kids were excellent. Love that it was set in the 70s, can never get enough of seeing those muscle cars. The soundtrack was good too ("Hmm, I could get into disco.." :giggle: ). And even the douchebag sitting next to me checking her phone couldn't spoil it. Oh and the short film in the credits was really funny. One to see again definitely, 9/10.

Really really enjoyed this. Sat next to Beate and OH which was nice. Stinky nacho man in front and annoying girls to our right who kept taking their phones out sucked.

But what a great film, it overshadowed the surrounding annoyances!

8/10

another top ten movies for the year, maybe even the best. 10/10 for me, its a cross between Jaws and ET (in fact Spielberg implements several scenes from those movies!)

The aggregate quality of this years movies just moved up a rung, due to this movie alone.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
