I need these in my life... (even though they're kind of ugly, for some reason I still want them)
Yeah but these special 3d glasses dont ever seem to cross the pond from the US, I remember US had some cool Avengers 3D glasses but we didnt :(

We did get the Harry Potter style 3D specs though, so there is hope! And WB are doing the distributing for the Hobbit :cross:
The Avengers 3D glasses did come over here but in a very limited release (they were given out at the premiere and cinema chains had them as competition prizes).

Oh really?!? Bad enough I was jealous of the US getting them, now I am jealous of the comp winners too :(

Might have to brave the Kate Madison fan movie just to deal with all the hype.
Born of Hope is an awesome production, well acted and fits perfectly well with the visual aesthetics, soul and mood of PJ's LOTR. It has a super original score too that fits nicely with Howard Shore's work. The movie tells the story of Aragon's father, Arathorn. Watch it, no bravery needed! This is my favourite fan made movie and I find it far better than The Search for Gollum, another fan made movie which gets a lot of praise.

lol I didnt agree first time I watched it. The first scene's voiceover sounds like its made by a student chick from surrey that was nearly enough for me to switch it off last time. The acting was very hammy and I stopped after seeing what might have been my highlight.

Ok but will give it a second go, I cant really bear to wait for Hobbit any longer now. It could technically count as a Hobbit prequel, though its not.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Aww at least on second viewing you can be prepared and be a bit more forgiving for the odd amateurish moments here and there, I know you are quite a strict critic ;) I like that opening narrative voice over btw ;)

Warner Bros. and New Line have set July 18, 2014, as the release date for the third film in Peter Jackson's ambitious The Hobbit trilogy.

Additionally, the second film has been retitled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The third film will take the title that was previously assigned to the second film, The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

Finally some pictures of Lee Pace as King Thranduil! I am not sure whether to flail or giggle though...
