The Dictator
Re: The Dictator
The worst film I have seen in a long, long time. The 60 minutes I sat through, thanks to the late start which meant I had to leave before the end (which I NEVER otherwise do), were completely unfunny and very poorly acted. SBC's accent reminded me of Shadwell from Channel 4's Absolutely (too obscure??) and Anna Faris looked embarrassed to be there.
I urge anyone tempted by this to stay at home and watch Four Lions instead.

Re: The Dictator
I was also at the 02 on Thursday to watch this, and, after quite a painful wait, I'd say the final result was worth it. Really surprised to see some parents trying to bring their babies to this?
Clearly, this was a film for adults that was- for the most part - very, very funny. Obviously doesn't rank closely to Borat in the quality stakes, but its an enjoyable enough watch if you don't take offense too easily.

Do you think you should maybe watch all the film before you start urging people to avoid it. Just a thought.ploggit wrote:I urge anyone tempted by this to stay at home and watch Four Lions instead.

I think ploggit is perfectly entitled to say what s/he said. 60 minutes out of an 86 minute running time is good enough for me. You don't have to see a film all the way through to be able to voice an opinion.ramper77 wrote:Do you think you should maybe watch all the film before you start urging people to avoid it. Re: The Dictator
Ha ha. I have walked out of films after 15 minutes and then started urging people to avoid it. It's what you do if you think a film is crap. And while I don't share his opinion on this particular film, he is within his right to give it.ramper77 wrote:Do you think you should maybe watch all the film before you start urging people to avoid it. I happened to see a copy of the Mail yesterday and was amazed to see a rave review of this - and by their regular film reviewer, Christopher Tookey, too, who would normally be expected to hate anything crude, dodgy, etc.

Maybe he only saw the last 26 minutesMs Thrifty wrote:I happened to see a copy of the Mail yesterday and was amazed to see a rave review of this - and by their regular film reviewer, Christopher Tookey, too, who would normally be expected to hate anything crude, dodgy, etc.
Re: The Dictator
Was this film really that bad? I missed out on the preview and still wanted to watch this but not sure now...

Re: The Dictator
Why not read all the reviews on this thread? They are not all bad.
