I didn't like it, found the violence wholly gratuitous at times and the riot scene totally unbelievable. It didnt explore the issues it raised so much as pose them in very us/them terms. Disappointing.

Agree totally with the above comments. Although I thought Michael Caine was excellent in the lead role but first half of the movie is very slow in building to the predictable ending.

Quite enjoyed the film, yes the riot scene and ending bit OTT, but the reality piece was the slow build up in highlighting that in some areas people leaving like this on there own too frightened to go out because of the yobs that run riot, is this film a reflection of 'Broken Britain' no one left during the film all lopoked pretty gripped to the story 7/10

Iwatched it at Bluewater and our film was also out of focus as mentioned in a previous post, shaking for first 5 minutes, couple of people got up to complain and it was sorted after, but no free comp tickets for us like the people at Coatbridge showcase

I'm not sure how I feel about this film, it wasn't terrible but I didn't enjoy it or think that the story was particularly well told. Found some scenes totally unbelievable but I get what they were trying to portray. All a bit grim. 5.5/10.

the film played with emotions and i think many people can relate to the matter of the film, for this i was captivated all 108 minutes and nice to see a ending that dont leave it to our imagination. best film i have seen for a while.. 8/10

i thought this film was excellent. Brilliantly acted by Michael Caine, it was gritty, grim, sad and thought provoking, i watched it last tuesday, the cinema was full, no one walked out, everyone seemed gripped to their seats.

the film powerfully portrayed the alienation of the old and the young in society, and the ineffectiveness of the police. The slow build up for me demonstrated how Harry Brown came to do what he did.

i think the mark of a good film is the same as the mark of a good book, it "stays with you." i saw the film last tuesday, and it has certainly stayed with me. i would give this film 10/10.

It's great to see most members of FMUK got to see the film. Anyone not managed to see it? I would be surprised with so many codes.

I thoroughly agree.

I also saw it Tuesday and I've been constantly thinking about it since then. Yes it was violent, several times I wanted to close my eyes, I don't like violence and get quite upset, but in this film I think it has its place and needs to be there. This stuff really does happen and people need to know how horrific it really is. How many times do you turn the radio on and hear the news 'a woman was shot in a drive by shooting in front of her toddler'? and you say 'Oh that's terrible', and don't think much else about it. To actually see it happen in such a realistic way was shocking and really opened my eyes. We've largely become desensitized to this awful violence and that's sad.

10/10 from me too

One of the best films i've seen this year, really hits home loads of issues in todays society and lets face it who wouldnt want to go vigilante on their estate. Only thing that slightly stretched plausability was even though all the individual incidents could happen the fact that they all happened was a bit much.
