If you're interested in documentary film-making, it's really interesting...

I watched The Rebound last night (thanks to FMUK)
It's about an older separated woman (40s?) who falls for a 25 year old guy. I thought it was a bit slow at the start and got better about halfway.
Whilst entertaining, it's difficult to relate to the characters....
Catherine Zeta Jones still looked amazingly beautiful and the film finishes on a feel good end.

Unfortunately I'm finally coming to the end of the final fifth series, any other Wire addicts out there?
Yup. I went through it at 1 or 2 episodes per night. A show of incomparable quality.
I'm watching Homicide: Life on the Street atm, also based on David Simon's work. That's how I'm coping post-Wire. I also intend to watch all of The Wire again.
I really got into The Wire, a couple of series in to be fair, but also feel it was a superior show. Some shocking moments in Series 5. I've heard that Southland is a good series... too much other stuff to watch first...

I watched City Island at Islington Vue last night. Enjoyed it more than I expected, but I think after Inception I thought I'd start with low expectations, so anything better would be good! It was very funny!

Thanks for that. It was an intriguing read.

Last night I watched a few episodes of Season 3 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Whoa Sherlock was great! Loved this new modernised adaption. Right down to the retro 70s style retro TV music score. The relationship between Sherlock and Watson was definitely sparking. I've become quite a fan of the books of recent having read most of the books (all very short stories) in the last 8 months and can say that this adaption of the first story is pretty faithful. If anything, it was trying to be too faithfull at one point with a ridiculous suggestion that Watson's mobile phone was handed down with an loving inscription (original story would have been a watch or ring, cant recall). We all know mobile phones cease to bloody work after 2 years. Freeman is simply the same Freeman we see in Office, Hitchikers, Love Actually, I dont think he can play any other character! But I aint complaining cos that deadpan reactionary character always makes me laugh.

9/10. I dont expect the rest of the series to be half as good as the pilot but if its half as enjoyable I'll be always looking forward to this :)

Did the rest of you enjoy it? Or am I in a minority :(
