Get Him to the Greek
Re: Get him to the Greek
I was really looking forward to this as i loved forgetting sarah marshall but i got pretty bored with it after a while. Brand was good but not for a whole movie. He is better off playing a smaller part, jonah hill was really the funny man like he is normally. 6 out of 10.
Now for the trailer - i just have to see Scott Pilgrim vs the world - it looks funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other trailer adjustment bureau i think it was called looks interesting a film about watchers

Saw this Tuesday with my sister and met another fellow fmuk prettyxcool.
I was not that keen on the film as it was as some people mentioned a bit too crude and a lot of swearing. It was funny in some parts and then declined. Not as good as forgetting Sarah Marshall. So 7/10 from me

Saw this last night at Odeon MetroCentre.
I was really looking forward to this film, I am a huge Jonah Hill fan, and have watched forgetting Sarah Marshall repeatedly, which is where my love of Russel Brand started to grow!
I have to say, Russell Brand is a good comedy actor, definitely not taking himself too seriously as Aldous does.
Katy Perry was meant to have a cameo in this.... I didn't see her?
I wasn't surprised to see that Jason Segal created characters, and wrote some of Aldous Snows songs...
Totally p****d off with the 20minute repeat run through, especially because we got there early as you know turning up late loses seats, and seriously people adults this time kicking seats behind are so off-putting! back row next time for me!
So anyway, I didn't do the big belly laughs I was expecting, but it was amusing, and in a couple of years time i dare say i'll watch it again.
6.5/10

I can't believe the number of people here who preferred FSM. I'm a huge fan of Segel as a performer, but he's not a good writer at all, and FSM was, well, hugely forgettable.

Re: Get him to the Greek
Just got my reply from Metrocentre Odeon re their mess up with the screening time - slightly sarcastic, blunt and unnamed apology - said the movie company pa*d for all of the ticket holders to watch the film - duh but no answer why it was started early - not happy with their sarcy tone and told them that - no free tix though -you p*y peanuts...

Re: Get him to the Greek
Seen this on Monday in Cardiff. Pretty full cinema. I also like to get there early to choose my seat, I hate it when I'm asked to move - have said no at one request
there were lots of seats else where.
Back to the Greek - it was OK, the bad language got on my nerves a bit, there were LOL moments and a happy ending. I haven't seen FSM so can't compare Russell Brands' acting.
My OH is a Jeffrey and I now have a running joke on this (- got to see the film, for those wondering what I mean)
I wont be b*ying the DVD

Yes, that was fun! Thankfully, I had got in about quarter past so I did not have to sit through the entire half hour again.anjirose wrote:Saw this last night at Odeon MetroCentre.

I haven’t seen Sarah Marshall so was not sure what to expect but I enjoyed it. The film was just as expected, yes it was rude, but it’s a 15 and about a drunken, drugged up rock star, do you expect them to be sat around playing tiddlywinks? I liked the cast, especially Russell Brand who I am a big fan of anyway.

No previews near me but I still saw this pretty promptly and free by using a Tesco/Cineworld voucher. A shame in a way to sit indoors in the dark in such lovely weather but it was cooler and I quite enjoyed the film - certainly more than FSM, thank goodness, as that was my worst film of 2008. I was curious to see the credits as I was puzzling over the identities of lots of the cast.

I wasn’t feeling the love for this one. Thought it was a cross between Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll and the Boat that Rocked.

Brand tops UK box office.
Russell Brand's new comedy 'Get Him To The Greek' has topped the UK box office.
The British funnyman reprised his 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' character Aldous Snow for the new film, which took £1.5 million over the weekend.
Someone at work has b*ght the soundtrack to play on her ipod after she'd watched this film last week. She thinks it will get in the top 10, and rates Russell Brand's singing voice.
