Re: The Karate Kid
Wow so many positive reviews for this film on here... I can see a Karate Kid 2 coming or maybe they should just be really brave and call the sequel Kung Fu Kid and Karate Kid 2 if they are sending Jaden and Jackie to Japan.

Re: The Karate Kid
Maybe thats the new trend, give people free tickets, but charge a bucket for drinks/confectionary.

Re: The Karate Kid
We went to see the film yesterday, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The children thought it was great, their ages 11 - 14 years. Would definately recommend this film.

Re: The Karate Kid
Was slightly apprehensive about seeing this as I loved the originals, well, the first two anyway. I can honestly say that this was a very good movie. It made the franchise feel fresh and gave the saga a welcome reboot. Jaden Smith is really quite a talented young man and the filmakers clearly focused on bringing us a story over substance. Not just a couple of hours of one action sequence leading into another. Well done!
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Re: The Karate Kid
And apparently the Justin Bieber song at the end helped to sell the film too. What is this world coming to???

Re: The Karate Kid
I was the same and was reluctant to give up a sunny Sunday, having already missed the original Monday screening I had tix for but what a lovely film, I absolutely loved the settings and the fact it was filmed in China which has had such a closed film industry, really atmospheric. If children watched the films full length there were a few good moral lessons as well. The child actors were superb, the only bit that spoilt it for me was the mum watching the tournament, bit ott and if it was my child I'm not sure how I would have reacted seeing him up there with injuries possibly not the same as her. I did feel that the children present at the screening were getting a bit fidgety with the length of the film and wonder whether the advertising should be pitched as such to attract the right audience because I certainly wouldn't have chosen to go and would have missed a fab. film. Will certainly p*y to see it again or b*y the dvd.
