I still have no idea what was going on in the film and I couldn't care less.

I think hollywood have gone overboard on 3D now. They're making 3D movies just for the hell of it & because they can, not because it adds to the movie experience. I actually avoid certain films in 3D now.

3d was good but it would have looked just as good in 2d!

Re: Tron Legacy
Yeah, for once the 3D was good expecially when they delayed using it until the right moment. Reminds me of Wizard of Oz, starts off in black and white, then as Dorothy steps into the land of Oz, the screen transforms to glorious technicolour. Same happened with Tron starting off in 2D then suddenly your whisked into a 3D world, that was actually pretty awesome moment for me, considering I'm a 3D hater, lol.

Re: Tron Legacy
I don't remember liking the first one very much so I went to see Tron Legacy not expecting a lot. The storyline is just as far fetched but it had flashy graphics and looked visually stunning. I did watch the first bit until Sam gets into The Grid without the 3D glasses though, as they were not really needed and it only made the film darker. Overall I thought this was a thrilling ride through the virtual world of Tron. I was also blown away by Daft Punk's score. Glad I went to see it!

I was at the premiere too! Was in Row B - much too close and ended up with neck ache, plus there were two heads in Row A in front of me restricting my view a lot! The Empire was packed so could not even change seats. Where were you tilly? The red carpet was not red again, they seem to be using blue more at premieres, and you are not allowed to hang about either on the blue carpet, security rushes you in. Once inside, we were watching the same footage as presumably the 02 viewers, but we did get a few words from Jeff Bridges before the film started, so few I did not even hear what he said, it was over in seconds! We also got a bag of popcorn and a bottle of water.tilly wrote:Oh and I attended the premiere tonight. It was
Nice to walk to walk the blue carpet and we were given allocated seats which turned out quite well.
I was expecting a lot and was disappointed. There was not much of a plot and it took a long time to get going.I did want to leave early on but oh wanted to see the ending!
I'm guessing there will be a sequel as it was left open. I will say I was impressed with it visually but disappointed with the plot .
5/10 from me
The film was visually stunning and I agree with tilly there does not seem to be much of a plot, thought it quite far fetched actually, but I enjoyed the ride nevertheless, as the 3D was quite well done for a change. 6/10

Re: Tron Legacy
Just got back from the showing at the O2 and have been reading other people's reviews.
Although I agree with some of the comments about the lack of plot and originality, I thoroughly enjoyed what I considered to be a pure 'popcorn' movie.
Okay, so I don't remember the original all that well and therefore ,can't say much about the story arc from the first film but as a stand alone movie it had some great action, stunning graphics and some very impressive vehicles (the light cycle being a clear favourite).
Though not a ground breaking film it is certainly worth watching. I'm often very critical of movies which are a series of action sequences strung together by a loose story line but for some reason this worked for me.
Maybe because it reminded me of watching similar movies as a child ... when I was mesmerized by the flashing lights, the fast cars and the loud explosions and didn't care so much for the plot. Disengage your brain and enjoy the ride.
7/10
PS. Turning to the 3D, I can't agree that it was as 'visually stunning' as others have found it to be. I was sat 3 rows from the back of the theatre and in the centre so as to immerse myself in action fully. However, I found many of the 3D sequences blurry and out of focus. Those that were with me also agreed (as I thought I was going mad at one point and even swapped my 3D glasses for a second pair!) Did anyone else experience this, either at the 02 or any other cinema?

Re: Tron Legacy
saw this yesterday at the O2. We arrived just 15 min before the start of the movie, so we ended up seating in the third row. At the end my bf was complaining that his neck was hurting. Sometimes we couldn't see the 3D effects well, which was really annoying. I thought it had to do with being so close to the screen...Otherwise, it was nice to get free popcorn for a change, and when we were getting out of the O2 we were given a chocolate too.
As for the film, I thought it was visually stunning. Loved the retro look of the grid. But the pacing and the storyline weren't good. 6/10

Screen 1. Were they also showing in Screen 2? Doors open at 5.45pm and we got there about 6.15pm, so saw a lot of boring footage!
