Maybe I am being a bit mean here, I do wonder how many of the key scenes were CGI effects rather than the actual horses/ducks "performing"

I was engrossed so didn't hear any wee boy asking questions yesterday.

I loved this film, it was excellent and really didn't feel overlong.

My only gripe was the factual inaccuracy of the village they used. It was Castle Coombe in Wiltshire which really does look just like that but with a tarmac road. the cottages were all Cotswold yellow stone. The farmhouse in Devon was grey (Dartmouth granite?) so it looked a little weird to me when it swapped from village to farm and vice versa.

The horse was excellent and thought there were a couple of other good turns from the humans too.

9/10

I have come to the conclusion that the story with the annoying French girl and her Grandfather should have been cut entirely. It took the film's momemtum away, it wasn't necessary and you could have done the ending slightly different, while slicing half an hour of the film's length.

Ha - I knew it was the same horse!
So where did you sit? When did it finally start? Any goodies at your seats? Pictures?
Apparently if they used the real mother, it would have been impossible to separate the foal from the mother.

I think the film finally started at approx 6.25pm and finished at approx 8.55pm.

We were in A row - middle of front row, but as the screen is not on top of you like at the Empire, we were quite comfortable. There were drinks and popcorn, plus a brochure from The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry that supports the armed forces and their families - I have picked up a couple of copies for you and OH. Ask me for them next time we meet!

Took some photos but did not have time to sort out last night, will post as soon as. :P

Thats what bothered me too about the use of CGI, undoubtably the snow and the sunset at the end is very pretty, but I am still unsure if I like it or loathe it

Would like to have seen it but couldn't get in at Eastleigh. Not sure if it was down to photocopies or oversubscription. Had to watch Sherlock Holmes instead! 8O
