Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
I thought the episode was confusing and all over the place, plus you could hardly read some of the writing, it was so tiny and off the screen a second later.
Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
I did find some of the writing hard to read, but was watching it on a rather small telly that was a bit far away. Would probably be better even if I watched it on my laptop.
Loved it, especially how they played it to the fandom and their insanity regarding things. I'm sure they'll draw it out to the very end, but if the 12th comes and goes and I don't know how he jumped off that roof and survived I don't know if I'll be able to cope.
Can't wait for the wedding this weekend!

Finished Breaking Bad a couple of weeks ago, watched with my wife. Thought the 1st Season was quiet boring, but we continued o watch because everyone gives it raves reviews. It was definitely worth it. Now we recommend it to everyone.
Have started 24 Season 6, I'm not liking it that much (I had seen all the previous seasons) but this is the wife's first 24 and she is enjoying it.
Also started watching Chuck, nice change of pace here, really liking it

finishing smallville of all shows, goodness me, I used to despise the 'kooky' episodes, but I feel I shall actually miss them now that the show is over... never thought I would say that given how long the show overstayed its welcome.
Biggest problem for it was as its audience aged, trying to introduce adult themes into what was really a teens tv show, but the last series isnt doing such a bad job of it - though it seriously overplays the 'alternatie universe' card.

I couldn't do it anymore when they introduced Lois Lane when Clark was still in high school. I tried really hard but I just couldn't.raj101 wrote:finishing smallville of all shows, goodness me, I used to despise the 'kooky' episodes, but I feel I shall actually miss them now that the show is over... never thought I would say that given how long the show overstayed its welcome.

yeah very strong point, Louis was very off putting back then. She actually works well later on though, and by season 9/10 shes not even irritating, way better than Bosworth's and Adam's innings. Chloe is the one who gets irritating towards the end. She just becomes this get out clause for solving problems.caitlinmorton wrote:I couldn't do it anymore when they introduced Lois Lane when Clark was still in high school. Ideally they ought to have dumped half the (utterly rubbish) episodes and simply condense the good material into 5 seasons. Season 9 and 10 are worth a watch, but best dodge 6 entirely. just no.

cripes my iplayer download list is megalong.
Now, concerning Doctor Who -
I've also decided not to accept the Day of The Doctor as canon for me at least anyway.
Its become increasingly obvious to me that Hurt is really a stand-in for Eccleston who refused to return. Think about it, Hurt is old, slow and the antithesis of a 'warrior doctor' (whatever that is lol). Eccleston was the youngest doctor to date, plus impetuous and combative by nature - the natural warrior doctor. I am pretty sure he is the warrior doctor but had to be replaced by adjusting the script.
now, for anyone at all still reading my drivel theory, my way round this so as to include DoD is this
- hobbit doctor needed to be in two places at the same time, which would be impossible, so he enlisted the sisters of khan to help him split his regeneration into two individuals, one the John Hurt doctor, and one the Eccleston doctor, so as to get round this problem. This is just possible because Hurt ALONE (the result of Hobbit Doctors regeneration) is never clearly shown in the 'Night of the Doctor', and its quite possible he wasn't the only product of it. Or we can accept alternatively that DoD is completely non canonical and do away with Hurt altogether. This makes me happier anyway. Now go take a long look in the mirror you dipshit for being fruitloop bored enough to read my drivel this far.
Re: TV Series: Discuss, Review, Anticipate, and Wotnot
In my opinion both episodes were a waste of time in their own ways (I loved the first one though!). Come on guys only 3 episodes per season!
Hopefully we'll get some proper detective action in the next one

If the trailer is anything to go by its going to be a doozie.
Loved this one.
Sherlock has also now brought the Coriolanus fandom to its knees (yes, there's a Coriolanus fandom). Alfie Enoch...yay!
Elementary will never be able to top this. They played their trump card with this week's episode (that was their master stroke and the show's best quality, but unfortunately, they can't play it too often), and I think next week's is only going to make me remember that its a cheap knock-off of BBC Sherlock.
