Then for dinners I use a couple of tesco club card vouchers which were expiring for Bella Italia and Ask Italian. OH pa*d for lunches and return train tickets from Dyce to Aberdeen. I only pa*d for petrol and soft drinks with dinner. Then we returned via Edinburgh where we lunched in Angels With Bagpipes using a lunch voucher. Pretty fancy for OH.
A very cheap weekend indeed.
Great to hear that weekend went well and you are both now "back to normal"

(OH)
Glad you were able to find the sunshine . . . make sure you put that date in your diary!
Look forward to seeing you both tomorrow night for Now is Good . . . make sure you bring the hankies!

Premier Inn had their winter sale last week which is still on. Looking quickly there are some hotels at £29 per night around then. Also St Andrew Day (November 30th ) and weekend nearest that date will probably mean Edinburgh Castle and other venues might be free entrance too. One of the few decent things the SNP has done for Scotland.
I am coming to Edinburgh

I will look into the Premier Inn as I have just booked my train tickets - we both tried booking at the same time but couldn't even get on the same carriage so haven't used as many vouchers as I wanted to but we have got return tickets for the bargain price of £23 (that's for me and DD)

I will just have to go on another trip to use them

I will eventually get to go into Edinburgh Castle with the added bonus of it being free - I've only been once and it was closed due to bad weather

for the SNP - I have no idea re politics but making the Castle free for St Andrews is good for me.

Of course

I've booked this
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... kC7JwQOjDA or try this link
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... hznOM8zT-g (its the Nira Caledonia in Edinburgh) for less than a travelodge it was just under £60 (I may b*y breakfast as a treat when we're there). An overnight stay (a Saturday night at St Andrews weekend) in a 5 star hotel In Edinburgh including train travel from Manchester for £41.50 each plus the added bonus of Edinburgh Castle for free but the piece de resistance is I'm going to meet some lovely FMUKers which is priceless
