Captain America

#1 Post by superhero » Wed Jun 22, 2011 8:53 am

I wonder how well it will do in the box office especially in the UK, considering it will be the 4th superhero film of the summer so far (superhero fatigue? Never....haha)
and I guess the character might not travel so well outside of America....

Wasn't this film only made so audiences could become familiar with the character before The Avengers movie next summer?

I'm excited, Chris Evans is brilliant, Hugo Weaving is always a great choice, and the trailers are fantastic. If it sucks, that'll be a shame, but I'm hopeful for this to be good.

hes the most difficult character to translate as competent, being a muscley guy who carries round a bulky great shield yet can still perform stellar aerobics and freerun out of the way of bullets.

I mean, hes the least credible.

I have a feeling Captain America will have the worse taking regardless of how good or bad it turns out to be. As others have mentioned, its the 4th superhero film...leading to a bit of a burnout with cinemagoers and again as mentioned already, Captain America is so self pretentious and arrogant in its very name that will put off many non Americans. I look forward to it though!

Yes I do worry about the name. It's going to put some people off it...

Captain Caveman is lot more marketable, wonder why they never made a movie out of that old skit?

I thought the trailer looked aweful and the film looks like it will be as rubbish as Green Lantern. There again I'm not a fanboy and I don't like the 3D
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks
