Sunshine On Leith

#1 Post by Yinster » Tue Sep 17, 2013 11:08 pm

Cheesetastic to say the least. Just wondering if it was pretty funny cos I am Scottish and would other nationalities get the jokes? And finally watching a film and seeing all the locations and going why you going that way to the train station and why is Glasgow pretending to be Edinburgh. Surprise myself by knowing so many Proclaimers songs. 8/10

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

None that I know - enjoy it in Glasgow.

That what annoys me - a premiere in Edinburgh but no one can get tickets and then the rest of the country gets a free screening in the next couple of days but none in Edinburgh! Okay, one coming on 1st October with sky - but I missed those!!! :noo:

Ploggit was the other fmuker. Very nice to meet you too. Not sure about the Grosvenor at all. Whilst it is very comfy with the sofas and leather seats they don't have any place for people to loiter and instead they send everyone to the bar next door. Which is fine if you like being in a pub but if you don't.....

Still cheesetastic though I didn't think the Glasgow audience were as up for it as the ones from Edinburgh?

Not a fan of musicals. Not a Proclaimers fan. Hated Chicago. And Les Mis..... But this???
I loved it. Don't know why, I just did. Maybe having 2 quality actors in Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks brought it up. Whatever, it will make your day better. And that's good enough for me.

Ahh ploggit, sorry!

I thought there was going to be a fight at the end, there was a couple of girls to my right drinking wine but were fairly quiet, the whole screen was pretty quiet i thought! As they were leaving a woman walked past them and said something quite rude about how the two of them hadnt shut the fck up throughout! Oh dear.....anyway as soon as she said it she took off and one of the girls ran after her!

Well i laughed and cried at this film, not a massive fan of the proclaimers but i do like them & their songs, especially Sunshine on Leith. It was played at my cousins funeral many years ago. Anyway i've already done my review on the film...definatly b*ying this when it comes out on dvd!! :P
