Apparently McConaughey gives an oscar worthy performance in this so I'm really looking forward to catching it next week o/ ...

Though I recognize that the performances are great (though not, in my opinion, better than those in 12 Years a Slave), I didn't appreciate this as much as I expected to. Just something off for me.

Went to see this in Bristol but was turned away as the screening was full, quite a lot of people were turned away. I should have got there earlier I guess but the last preview I went there was The Railway Man which was less than 10% full. First time I've ever been turned away from a preview screening, hoping for some bad reviews!

Sorry to disappoint you but it was quite a good film.
Strong lead performance, I think he deserved his Oscar nomination.

On the other hand, Kingston was about 70% empty. The film was excellent with great performances. We came outside to a monsoon and got completely drowned but it was worth it.

Absolutely astounding, loved everything about it. Oscar worthy - absolutely!

I'll even watch it again. Can't fault any part at all. Thank you!

This had the 'something' I felt '12 Years A Slave' lacked, which was quite simply characters that I could really connect/empathise with.

I thought that Matthew McConaughey's performance in this was simply superb, it's possibly the best that's he's produced to date and therefore, for me at least, more than deserves the recognition it's been getting awards wise.

Jared Leto surprised me by being very decent in this and I really enjoyed (in a heartbreaking kind of way) how the relationship between his & McConaughey's characters developed.

Overall I have to say that I really, really loved this movie consequently it gets a comfortable & well deserved 9/10 from me o/ ...

Now, I usually aren't a fan of Matthew McConaughey. But that was something else. What a performance in a pretty darn good film, both from him and Jared Leto who was amusing and heartbreaking at the same time. Would have wished for a bigger victory over the FDA but you can't rewrite history.

Lovely to see so many FMUKers tonight at Odeon Greenwich, including bevvy, PXC, ZoeBanfield and jojojoanne.

Back from an almost full Glasgow Braehead.

From all the recent true stories and based on a true stories this was a class above them all. Whilst the others were good I too didn't feel much but this had something. McConaughey (totally unrecognisable) may have lost 42 pounds but he hasn't lost his acting ability. Jared Leto was also very good in this. It did remind me of Philadelphia and how Tom Hanks was in that. Coincidently made 20 years ago. 8/10

McConaughey was better than expected, if he can act like this what was he doing in the majority of his other films!
Jared Leto stole the show for me however, never rated him much before but his performance was pretty outstanding! Although it did deserve its Oscar nom, it was still a little slow in places. 7/10
