My parents saw a very early preview screening of this and from what I gather they hated it...

Gyllenhaal and Hathaway demanded more nudity. (Source - Yahoo)

While some actors attempt to minimilise their nude scenes in movies, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway wanted more in 'Love and Other Drugs', according to director Edward Zwick.

The pair were all for making the on screen relationship more realistic, even if that meant spending a lot of time naked on set.

In the film Gyllenhaal plays ladies' man Jamie who meets and falls for Parkinson's disease-battling Maggie (Hathaway) and Zwick says the two leads believed the intimate scenes were essential for the relationship to be accurately portrayed.

"Together we all decided to commit to the authenticity of this relationship. In my experience, when a couple gets together, those initial moments are spent in bed," the director said.

"The bed becomes their world. If we'd done it with the covers up to their necks, it would have been risible," he told Hollywoodandfine.com.

"In some sense, the nudity is as much about intimacy as it is about sex. I mean, they spend a lot of time naked just talking."

Zwick was pleased to report that the stars were professional and looked comfortable in their roles.

"We wanted sex to be part of the currency of the relationship - a hedge against intimacy. The actors had a lot to do. They had acting, they had to deliver exposition, to be comical, to speak the dialogue.

"So they were less self-conscious than you might imagine. I wanted them to feel free to do what felt right."

Totally didn't know she is battling parkinson's in the film. This just took a whole new turn, could actually be quite serious/funny? Kinda like Life As We Know It, but better (i hope) ....

Ed Zwick, Gylenhaal and Hathaway? Plus lotsa nudity? I dunno, this does sound like a good film on paper.
