Flying Monsters 3D
Re: Flying Monsters 3D
What was the point of that? At least they could have put on something else as well to make it worth while. Very disappointed.

Re: Flying Monsters 3D
Yes not exactly worth the trip but then I did know it was only 40 mins long before I went. It was a watchable enough doc with some okay 3D effects but did seem a bit pointless considering it's length. Also the bit where Attenborough and fellow expert actually pretended a computer generated pterosaur was on the desk in front of them ("Where's he going now?") was excruciatingly embarrassing. I know it was supposed to be cute and funny but seriously, I wanted to get up and shout 'You're a serious broadcaster for god's sake, what are you doing?!' I didn't obviously.
Slight and, for a free screening, fairly pointless (free popcorn aside). Also, despite the weather, surprisingly busy (epic fail for the two people who came in 25 mins into it).

Re: Flying Monsters 3D
Well I made the effort and more shockingly so did my lazy friend especially for this film. Anyhow, I love dinosaurs and david attenburgh is legend. So as I expected I enjoyed this but yet again despised the useless 3d darkening the screen, sigh.
As kevin, mentioned, there was a part where attenborough had to react to a terasaur coming out of a monitor. All I thought was, hmm, david can act just as well as his brother, Dick!

Re: Flying Monsters 3D
Edinburgh was 70% full. Weather is horrid here.
The 3D was clever where the bones came out of the fossil and the science was very interesting. Agree the bit where it "came to liofe" was annoying.
Hawaii looked nice at the start!
It was fine although i was pretty tired, I decided to listen with my eyes shut in part!

This was quite interesting, really enjoyed it. Didn't understand why 4 people came in so late, literally only caught the last minute of the film!

Anyone make it to Greenwich? Well I tried to make an effort for this only to find the Blackwall Tunnel was closed so just turned around, couldn't be bothered to mess about trying to drive round to find another crossing. Should have really pa*d more attention to the travel news! At least it got us out and about relatively early to enjoy the weather.

Glad you mentioned this opas as I hadn't heard anything about this either. I just checked and it is closed southbound until 5am tuesday! I need to rethink my plans for tomorrow now.opas wrote:Anyone make it to Greenwich? Well I tried to make an effort for this only to find the Blackwall Tunnel was closed

Re: Flying Monsters 3D
Yes it is. We had our accident 4 miles from the northbound tunnel yesterday. The other way would have been the Woolwich Ferry which is actually pretty nice.
Re: Flying Monsters 3D
That was the shortest time I've ever spent in a cinema, very strange to be walking out after only 40 minutes. It was very interesting though, and I could have watched a more detailed and longer feature. And Sir Attenborough could narrate paint drying on a wall, it'd still be fascinating..
