Re: Adventureland
Sat through this with a headache, which marred my enjoyment somewhat. It was a mediocre film, with some funny bits and some uninteresting moments. These youngsters have to cut their teeth somewhere, somehow. The leads James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) and Emily "Em" Lewin (Kristen Stewart) were pretty good, showing some potential for the future. I did not like Ryan Reynold's sleazy character at all, and the stepmother was extremely irritating.
I thought Bill Hader was funny, as usual.
6/10 from me.

It's been a while since I've sat through such a stinker! I really struggled to find anything to like about this film. Disappointed as I thought from reviews that it was going to be quite humourous. Recurring jokes about being kicked in the balls? Funny when I was 7, but not now I'm in my twenties thank you.
Still, at least it was free... :-)

Hiya!
Seen this film at the Printworks, Manchester tonight and I have to say that although I was really looking forward to it I felt quite disapponted at the end! I can't really put my finger on why though as it is the genre/style that usually I would lap up! A lot of the more peripheral charachters I enjoyed watching (the owner of Adventureland and his wife, the friend with the glasses and a couple others) but fundamentally I didn't warm to either of the main characters James or Em & I also got the impression the writer/director was concentrating on trying to make a 'cool' film with a 'cool' soundtrack and I think it was to the films detriment. I did find it watchable (quite a few didn't and left early) but I wouldn't be bothered about seeing it again and I am not sure who I would recommend it to! Except friends who would like the soundtrack! 5-6/10!

Re: Adventureland
Saw this at Edinburgh Westerhailes tonight. Thanks for tickets folks
Chucking it down with rain lots of folks coming in late, last ones about 10 to 7.
Cinema only about 50 -60% full.
Must be the Scottish sense of humour as quite a few laugh out loud moments. Loved the music, liked the two leads and was quite enjoyable for what it was.
We thought it was a 6.5/10.

Re: Adventureland
Saw this at Wimbledon tonight, the cinema was about 70% full. Found the film quite average if not disappointing, with a few funny moments but not really that interesting and was a bit bored with the story being so slow and dragged out. Definitely an easy way to waste almost 2hrs without having to think too much. Not nearly as good as I had expected it to be 5/10 and quite happy I hadn't pa*d to see this!

Re: Adventureland
Well, this wasn't my kind of film. While the music was great, it wasn't an interesting soundtrack since most were popular songs (i loved the Falco song btw...) The movie started of properly, but lost speed at the end of it and that lost it for me. You knew what the outcome was going to be but they weren't getting to it soon enough.
Better than expected, but certainly not great (5.5/10).
My mind keeps going: "...Amadeus, Amadeus.."
Edit: if anybody knows it, the characters and the film in general reminded me a lot of the tv-series Skins....

Re: Adventureland
This is one of those films where the Trailer is better than the actual movie itself. It is billed as a comedy but there are no laughable moments in it. Avoid if possible..

Re: Adventureland
Have to agree that this film was very average. A few laugh out loud moments...a few.
Cinema was 50% full ( or empty) .
Did bring back memories of when people used to drink and drive though

Re: Adventureland
Saw this at Wimbledon last night and can only describe it as an average indie film. The film just did not seem to pick up any pace and dragged. For the first time in ages I found myself checking my watch. Shame because I usually like quite quirky films but this did not hit any spot for me - even Ryan Reynolds failed to hold my attention.
A disappointing 4 out 10 from me!
