Tom Hollander was creepy, how can you be scared of a man in a lemon track suit?

:giggle: his choice of clothes were comical but what a cruelly. This film was pretty violent and i was gripped throughout, agree it should have been a 15.

I loved the hippy family and the whole campervan scene, especially when they were in Spain. This enhanced the film and added that extra vulnerability to Hanna's character to make her more likable.

Thought the 'Boys from Brazil' storyline was the weakest part and agree with Beate that it needed more meat.

Overall a good watch 8/10 o/

My 12 year olds view - I think overall the film was good, i liked the little funny parts& it was rather funny when she fell at the end, had to stop my self from laughingoutloud! i also had a tear when her 'Father' died.. :tears:

I couldn't agree more, I think Joe Wright is over stylish, heavy handed and a clunky director.

I'm not sure what was worse - the 1, 2, 3, couple of dozen shots of Saoirse Ronan staring into space with the sun on the lens and in her hair - or maybe the "quirky" side characters, the singing tramp, the camp tracksuited heavy - or the many, many fairytale nods, so many that Hanna may as well have had a red cape and wooden legs.

It felt at times like a pop video and you never believed that Hanna was this incredible fighting machine unlike Hit Girl or even Natalie Portman in Leon.

On the plus side I might check out the soundtrack.

Er...another spoiler in havingascreen's post in the last sentence. This seems to be happening a lot lately.

No I didn't find this particularly great either. There were some excellent and intruiging moments, namely her being able to speak so many different languages and hunting etc and I thought the scenery was fantastic (especially at the start). But from the moment she somehow jumped under that hummer I never really believed in her abilities, they were superhuman almost. I agree with yogi, her character was never fleshed out and we never really got to understand what had happened to her as a baby. I will say however, the music was very good and the cinematography great but no real substance and humanity in this story. Did like the ending though I could see it coming a mile off. 6/10 from me.

Well husband and I hated this. We thought it was poor in every way and we wondered why we trekked all the way to Whiteley's for such drivel. The week has been very dreary with The Way (which we also hated( and now Hanna -- please send us a decent film.

Our highlight was a meal at ASK afterwards to recover and using our Tastelondon card which gave us 50% off.

This started off interesting, the little cottage in the middle of nowhere, beautifully shot scenery and all that training, good stuff. The English family in Morocco added some entertainment value, but then when the film descended into one long violent chase it just bored me, and I couldn’t wait for it to end. Not to take anything away from Saoirse Ronan, she was great, and I liked some of the quirky directing touches here and there, but overall it just didn’t grab me. Blanchett’s accent was definitely weird, and the soundtrack proved too much of a distraction for me, although I liked most of it. So, a disappointing 5/10.

Went and saw this at a 3/4 full Bournemouth cinema. Went in with an opened mind wasnt sure it was my cup of tea but i quite enjoyed it. The story was ok,liked the sound track but thought there was a bit too much violence for a 12A.

DH and I did find this one interesting - and it is true the story is very much pulled along by the soundtrack. The film was really much more style than substance though - and the plot such as it was, was very thin - suspending belief was key!

I could not work out who the target audience really were - certain aspects were made to appeal to the tween/teen market - but I agree with those who have commented that it should have had a 15 cert rather than 12A.

The positives - Saoirse Ronan gave a great performance and Tom Hollander was the very good too - it was visually atmospheric in places - it was very pacy and with that soundtrack no one could nod off!

    6.5/10

    Ah bless him/her

Its quite interesting, I don't have kids but I was thinking it should be a 15 etc but a well grounded kid like yours wasn't fazed at all by the film. What do we know? The whole thing about the classification relates to glorifying violence and dwelling on it amongst other things, which wasn't happening with this film.
It did look like there was a big chunk cut out from the film, as Tom Hollander has in one scene a pristine leisure trackie and in the next, its all blood stained. But the BBFC had passed the film without cuts so Universal must have cut it
Did anyone else think that this movie had a very foreign movie feel to it?
