Re: Mobile Phones
My Nokia 3310 only passed away last year as I and phone got drenched on one of my walks in the rain.raj101 wrote:you probably dont class 15-18 year olds as kids like i do.aruif wrote:raj101 wrote:it is down in surrey. children get given iphones by parents here..goodness.
anyway, in true Monty Python sketch fashion, i'd like to put my even older nokia 1661 on the table in this oldest phone bidding match.
do they? i don't know any kids with iphones or even any parents that could afford that! must be a different bit of surrey to where i'm from :O
i think i still have my nokia 3310 somewhere... but err i don't use it! i also have an old sony erricson from about 8 years ago.. which again i still don't use, but might shove my orange sim in it to get my orange weds codes!
and u lead in the oldest phone stakes now. lol 3310 its true they are longlife. its older than wierdfilms, nearly.
Both my daughters have Blackberries but I would so love a 3310 again.

Re: Mobile Phones
i loved my 3310, although i hardly used it. Hours spent playing snake....
trouble was it was always the right size in my pocket for it to slip out unnoticed too easily for an occasional phone carrier. and of course, then it did... and i didnt replace it for years (i now keep my nokia chained to my key bunch).

Re: Mobile Phones
Now I think I can go a bit further back as I have an ancient Nokia 6110 (1997-2001) which we've had for at least 10 years. It's huge, retro and no one would ever want to steal it which makes it perfect for me. Only problem is O2 switched it off a some time back and when I called to complain they said they'd do me an enormous favour and put it back on the network but wouldn't give me my credit back unless I topped up. They also tell me I have to use it every so often but they don't know how often!! Now I don't use a phone much (plus we've got a few other rattling about) but I do want to be able to use that credit without putting any more money into this ancient phone as no doubt the battery will give up the ghost the minute I've put some more money onto it. So I've just written to O2 and am waiting to hear.

Re: Mobile Phones
my phone is a retro nokia 8310 and would not be without it. Imagine my indignation at the pictures at being told I had to hand it in. I explained it did not have the internet or camera so could not do pirate copy. They said rule was rule. I said wait a mo and went out and locked it in the car. The person next to me in the queue looked at me as if I was mad (
as if) as she proceeded to hand in her state of the arc iphone blackberry or whatever.
I love my phone
