Delighted with the outcome of no show at Edinburgh and free tickets to something else instead.

Re: Prom
Me too! Couldn't believe when I arrived and saw the long queue outside the closed cinema. Lol. Could have gone for the hat-trick and taken the free tickets AND tried to get to the other cinema too! Maybe asking a lot. Am wondering if SKY are going to do anything about it themselves.alythonian wrote:Delighted with the outcome of no show at Edinburgh and free tickets to something else instead.

Re: Prom
Saw this at a quite busy Liverpool 1 Odeon. Quite a lot of unaccompanied young teenage girls near to where I was sat though, constantly texting and chatting about what they would do in the situations they were watching on screen. I was quite glad when the people behind told them to be quiet or leave. I'm not that brave.
Anyway I enjoyed the story, typical Disney romance, reminded me of all the films watched when we used to subscribe to the Disney Movie Magic channel when my kids were younger.
Overall, a good Sunday morning movie. 6/10

Re: Prom
I saw this 2day @ Liverpool 1. Very cliched and not as good as I was expecting although I was very tired 2day!! They tried to "hip" it up a bit by trying to make it a bit "breakfast clubby"?? That did NOT work for me at all as I love the breakfast club and as for the bad guy act, a bit pathetic really. On the whole though, I though it was quite good. Some of the characters were lost on me, whether it was my age I dont know, but did like the guy who kept asking people out and the music that went with him as his next scene was coming up up lol. Teen girls I think will like this, but very watchable for a Sunday :) 7.5/10

Re: Prom
It was a typical american high school movie. Predictible with couple qute young boys and girls and couple shy ones, some fat ones, some geeky ones. Wrong rating again ! Yes, no sex and/or violence here but U means 4 and over... Nevermind that the kids 4-8 just won't find it interesting, but what about lying and cheating? Don't they need parental guidance on that? Prom should be Pg or 12a, just to send parents the right message for what age is that movie. And Hanna was no way 12A.
.. I was so lucky not to have my child with me then.... Also had loads and loads of very young kids today. Everyone behaved, strangely enough... Was a very busy screening! Ended up on the front row!
(my neck still hurts) inspite of coming at least 15-20 minutes before it was due to start... The seats weren't taken, but people had coats on them waiting for their friends, etc...
5/10 it was OK for Sunday morning and OK for older kids...

Re: Prom
Back from my Disney day which started with Prom in Glasgow. No regular faces so guess everyone who usually go to a free screening, didn't bother getting up.
The screen was about 75% full with people with very wee children (why oh why), some pre-teens and bored dads. OH and I were definitely in the minority. Film is disney but it is far too old for anyone under 7. The film title is exactly what is...the lead up to Prom and I think we don't quite get it like they would in the states. Typical cheese and very typecast roles and story with the disney happy ending. Recognised Lloyd (Nicolas Braun) from Chalet Girl. But that was about it which i think helps with this film as no one was the big star. Not as good as High School Musical. 6/10

Re: Prom
Sentimental, extremely predictable, cute, high school slush! Glee without the songs. Fortunately, both my friend and I admit that we did enjoy the easy to watch typical Disney entertainment, so it was not a wasted journey. Didn't expect much, but I actually shed a tear and had a few laughs too! Definitely one for the teens, and I suppose I have not grown up! I also liked the sulky rebel dude!
No flashbacks for me. 6/10
Whiteleys Odeon was about 25% full, with quite a few families with young girls (didn't see any teens), and they were very well behaved. The doors opened at 10.25am and started promptly at 10.30am! But everyone managed to visit the loos, b*y their drinks and popcorn and got settled quickly.

Re: Prom
Went to see this at a very empty Printworks in Manchester, don't think it was even 50% full. Very predictable film, story has been done before, and done better. The kids started to get borred with it, as did I. Definately a TV movie, wouldn't have been very happy if we had pa*d to go and watch it, but ok for a free sunday morning film. 5.5/10

Re: Prom
My friend and I saw this yesterday as a Freebie. Boy, are we glad it was free. Disappointing. Would have preferred Glee! Audience had some very young children who were clearly bored by the film. We did sit through the film but, at best, it's a B-type movie. If it had been on tv, I would have switched over. I suppose that some young girls will enjoy the story (& the appearance of the actors!!) but definitely not a film for everyone. Sad!
