Sorry dude. Haven't seen it yet, though I hear it's more of the same.
Oh and Rose Byrne is awesome. She was very different in this compared to her role in "X-Men".

jramjee wrote: Onto the movie. Hideously overrated, that's for damn sure. Had a few funny parts but overall was just plain awkward. Like any typical Judd Apadow production, the movie was longer than it needed to be with loads of unnecessary character exploration (ie. scenes that would normally end up in the deleted scenes) I love Kristen Wiig and thought she was hilarious, but for the most part the movie was meh. Wouldn't recommend it.

It was also hilarious in parts without relying too heavily on sex jokes. It was rather long for a comedy at 2 hours but didn't feel long and the story was paced just right. Kristing Wiig carried the film well making Annie seem self-isolated yet sympathetic. This is a sweet, heartwarming story with a touching emotional core and laugh out loud moments. I would happily watch it again. 8/10.
You and I can NOT have watched the same movie.
Well I went in prepared to like this film after all the positive reviews I'd read so maybe that made be biased? :shifty:

You must admit that Nathan (the cop) was just so adorable!

Pleasant enough, but at times just seemed to be ambling along without direction and definitely without much editing - it could have lost a good 20 mins I think.

There were a few laughs, but thought a couple of them were very cheap...
The food poisoning! Really! That again in a movie.
And that dress, there's no way Miss perfect party planner Helen would have chosen that dress
I really enjoyed this film, laugh-out-loud funny right from the beginning. The leads were excellent and well supported, interesting to see the gorgeous Jon Hamm in not such a heartthrob role. Don't think the poster gives the right impression of the film nor does it justice. I am looking forward to seeing it again.

Lovely to say hello to Valda and meet funthing29.

Saw this at the Omni, Edinburgh and the place was full before the film started which was good because it saved the usual latecomers trying to find seats. The girl taking the tickets told me that it was oversubscribed and they expected people to be turned away.

The film was very funny and although rather gross in places you couldn't help but laugh. 8/10

I didn't enjoy this as much as I was hoping to. There were a few funny scenes but other than that I found myself getting bored!
Kristen Wiig was good as the lead but thought everyone else was forgettable.
5/10

canadian_turtle wrote:I absolutely loved it. All the female characters were original and interesting (and peculiar!) in their own way, there were many moments where I was really laughing out loud (one where I even started tearing up because I was laughing so much!), the jokes were funny without retorting to just showing trashy scenes like Hangover 2, and the Scottish cop was adorable <333. 9/10
As usual, didn't like to watch trailer,so, I went with no expectation. But I actually liked it tho the beginning of the movie really caught me of guard  but when she was on top of the gate that's the starting point of LOL :giggle:
Do any of you guys actually wake up before your partner to make yourself look nice????? :winktongue:
Such a pleasant surprise to see O'Dowd in the movie. Love him in IT crowd and kind of a big break for him in American movie! Anyway, great movie after stressing day in the lab. And I believe everyone in Westfield had a big laugh at least in one scene or the other :D and
the food poisoning scene in the bridal shop especially when the bride couldn't control herself on the side of the road and megan in the sink...... disgusting but classic!!! I was horribly nauseous but laughed really loud at the same time :X :bwl:
Agree and agree! Love Megan and her crazy approach to people! I'm a big suc*a of rom-com. So, I was hoping Annie went after Officer Rhodes.... I was imagining Annie breaks her tail-light and drive pass him and hoping he stopped her and they lived happily ever after ;) hehehe
