Enjoyed this a lot. Consistently funny but with a nice sentimental streak underneath that crucially never got too mawkish. Was a bit worried beforehand that the more crude gross-out moments would seem out of place but I thought they worked very well within the film as a whole. There was also a decent amount of subtle laughs behind the more obvious crude ones.
Yes it was a little rambling and could have been edited a little to get it under 2 hrs but so much of it worked that it didn't matter too much.
Kristen Wiig was fantastic in the lead. Such a likeable actress that she still manages to make her character sympathetic even when she's at her worst. Her relationship with Maya Rudolph's Lillian was well-scripted and touching. Solid supporting cast too with stand-out turns from an uncredited Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy. Also slightly bittersweet seeing an on-form Jill Clayburgh in her final role. Decent cameo from co-writer Annie Mumolo too as Wiig's nervous co-passenger on the plane. Slightly odd that we are expected to accept a clearly Australian actress as Matt Lucas' sister though.
On the whole, Bridesmaids may not be a classic but I enjoyed it a great deal.

EDIT: Oh and also hands-down the best use of the c-word in a feature film ever.

I took my sister to see this as I'd heard it was a "female Hangover" and I thought it would be right up her street. How right I was. It was hilarious! I was crying with laughter at certain points - wedding shop!!! I thoroughly recommend this. Is not for everyone - very toilet/schoolboy humour (which is probably why it tickled me!)

Bang on funny film, I was not expecting much but this film was hilarious without too much sentimental tosh. Would definitely recommend this to others.

When I saw this at Fulham Road cineworld on Saturday morning, following the filming of the "film first show" after the movie we were told that the show would be available to view "on the website". Did anyone who went catch which website?

Saw this at the Omni last night. Great seats other than the draught from the air con. Asked them to turn this down but apparently has to be the projectionist that does this and it takes hours to do!!!

So other than freezing all night quite enjoyable, largest laugh tho was not to do with the bridesmaids.

Busy screening as Biggins said

I thought it was okay but maybe not as hilarious as I’d expected, Melissa McCarthy was definitely a highlight along with Kristen Wiig, the food poisoning scene will stay with me for a while, and anything with AC/DC and Blondie on the soundtrack gets an extra point, but the film was just a little too long and the neat schmaltzy ending drags it down for me as well... 7/10

I forgot to say, at Greenwich two women walked out 1 minute into the film - I can't blame them, LOL, it was a strictly unnecessary scene.

a very funny film I thought......laughed a lot - sometimes out loud.

Well written with characters I cared about - Chris O'Dowd was quite adorable and loved Kristen Wiig, she was great in 'Paul' and brilliant in this...believable all the way through.

8/10

Saw this in Cineworld Edinburgh and it was full with some empty seats. Why do I always have an empty seat beside me? We started about 5 minutes before you in the Omni as I tried to call my friend up after to meet up. There were about 12 or so latecomers all one after another and two girls standing decided to have a five minute conversation of trying to find seats in the dark right in front of me. Decided in end to divide and conquer but finally enough another two left about 20 minutes in so they managed to sit together.

Anyway enjoy this so much more than last night's Mother's Day. Helped that this is they type of film I like to watch. It goes straight to the "action" at the beginning and that was when my laughter started. Not sure why it was half crude jokes and half trying to tell a predictable story kinda of film. Probably try to pitch to female audiences and thinking they won't like totally crude jokes all the time. Funniest film I seen this year so far. I didn't think it was too long personally. Though it got too sickly sweet in the end for my liking like we need a happy ending. Nice to see a film with no real big stars. Well none of them were to me. Also why cast Matt Lucas as the flatmate? Totally wasted opportunity. To an American audience they be thinking who is this weird bald small guy.
