That's almost as bad as Burn After Reading! Poor you. Let's hope you get some better movies soon!
Seriously? I though Burn After Reading was hilarious, much like the Big Lebowski from the same directors.

Indeed, and depending on the critics you trust/agree with Adventureland is also great. For all we know lkpearson really enjoyed it (subtle hint: post a review or you'll have people deciding for you what you think!!)

I must read the reviews made on the archive site about this film!!! It wasn't that I didn't find it funny, it was funny at some points - it was just that I found that film totally pointless. I haven't watched the Big Lebowski so I can't comment on that.

P.S I didn't make the assumption that lkpearson didn't like the film (which if he/she didn't I wouldn't have been suprised anyway!!). I was feeling sorry for him/her for having that as a first film!

We've had a lot of new members recently. Perhaps they would like to recall what their first free preview was. o/

Mine was The Karate Kid.

I actually got the code from SFF themselves. We were early for the screening and a guy, who was quite chatty, mentioned finding the code on a forum, didn't specify the name, was very cryptic about it, but made it clear the forum was very good. When I got back home I did some Googling and ended up here and at MSE.

I've been going to free previews for more years than I care to remember. I remember the days when there was no such thing as tickets printed off of your computer (yes I am that old). You either had to pick them up from somewhere or they were sent through the post.

Sometimes tickets looked as cool as this - http://twitpic.com/4646n3

The first one in this country must have been "500 summers" at Whiteleys through time-out. They had made a big fuss about being there early and in the end we were 10 people in the whole cinema (at most). :star:

Wow, very cool.

I can just about match that with my first screening which was Young Einstein the Yahoo Serious comedy - no mask unfortunately. Me and my mum were approached my a clipboard wielding woman in Bury town centre and asked if we enjoyed going to the movies - I was crazy about films, as I am now and a few days later me and my mate were sat laughing our heads off for in the local cinema. Not sure how good it is now, but it was hilarious at the time.

After that I heard tales from the US of people going into a cinema to see one film and suddenly getting to see the latest blockbuster, so I knew screenings existed, but didn't know where or when and it wasn't until Magicians that I saw my 2nd free film.
