I arrived at Hatfield at 6pm to find there was already a very long queue. It took 20 minutes for me to get in while the usher checked everyone’s name off against a list. The screen was about 95% full and I heard the usher making people move up because last minute arrivals did not want to sit at the front. 8O

The film was absolute pants. After a promising opening, the film settled into purely 2 and a half hours of relentless, mind-numbing explosions, metal crunching and boring exposition. There were spurts of action but dialogue scenes seemed to be endlessly boring. The script was abysmal, with cheesy dialogue – who comes up with lines like “tell Megatron let’s tango” and “why do the Decepticons always get the good shit?”

The two leads are so wooden and couldn’t act to save their lives. RHW is one of the worst actresses I’ve ever seen; she has one expression throughout the film and pouts her way through every line. I never invested in her character or her relationship with Sam, so couldn’t give a toss what happened to her character in the end. The first shot we have of RHW is her bum which symbolises her role in the film: a sex symbol for men to drool over.

The only decent thing in the whole affair is the action sequences which are pretty entertaining to watch (even if the climax is unnecessarily long) and I especially enjoyed the scene near the end where they rolled down the building. The 3D here did improve the visuals and enhanced the events on the screen.

This is a step down from Revenge of the Fallen IMO (which is saying something) and I really hope they don’t make any more films.

Awful, just awful. 2/10.

Just come back from the Hatfield screening and i actually enjoyed the hell out of this. Going into this after reading reviews i expected crap story, crap writing, great action etc. And i thought to myself: "Well if theres any movie you can just turn off your brain and have fun without worrying about the story, its this one. So just this once just go in brainless"

To my surprise there was a story to this. It wasn't all action and "Loud noises and explosions". Granted it didnt require intelligence to follow neither did it challenge the audience, but i really felt like i was following a narrative and the action was there as a side effect of the conflict of the story.

I'm probably going to get lynched for this and show off my youth, but i actually laughed at alot of the "bad comedy" (except for Ken Jeong's random insanity, but i forgave it as he was thrown out of a window for it and he still advanced the plot a little). The rest of the humour wasn't needed and did nothing to add the film, sure, but it also didn't need to be exorcised from the film either and i was able to embrace alot of it while it was on screen (with only 1 minute of cringing during 154 minutes. New record no?). I kinda liked the 2nd film but in that movie alot of that stuff really needed to be edited down to salvage an awesome movie rather than: "yeah certain parts were good i guess". Here i loved it as it was.

A few things i had grievances with. I didnt like the editing. The constant cut to blacks were annoying and you felt like the cut out alot of footage and didnt bother to find a way to join the scenes before and after. There was even a GrindHouse "missing reel" moment where Sentinal is like: "We shall give this planet a taste of what we can do". Then it cuts to black and suddenly there are Decepticon ships destroying Chicago. It was incredibly random and there was nothing to lead into it. No epic ships arriving into the atmosphere as the world watches.

Another thing i didnt like was Rosie. Not her acting, i thought she did fantastic for her first role, but what i hated was how certain parts of her body was a magnet. The camera kept panning around her in obvious eye rolling fashion, and how she kept turning heads due to how "gorgeous" she was, was random and a little too blatent. But scenes where she had to portray a character i thought she did really well. Obviously if this was an actress i would have issues with her that comes with high expectations but as i wasn't expecting a performance it kinda threw me how "in character" she managed to be.

Overall a very fun movie with incredible action and an actual linear story. I keep reading there is no story and im just confused. I dont know why when a movie has some CGI or Action scenes in it, people automatically assume there is no story and it must be a dumb explosion junkie film. It's kinda worrying.

Final rating: 7.5/10
Preferred cinemas (in order of choice): Hatfield, Enfield, Lee Valley, Watford, Leicester Square/Central London, Greenwhich or anywhere within the catchment area of those.

The cinema in beckenham was packed out too. When I got there, they were asking for id which thankfully didn't delay me.

I wasn't expecting much as I had seen the last two. I knew not to expect much and I was right. People kept laughing throughout the whole film and I was wondering why as I didn't think the film was a comedy.

Sam's girlfriend was not great. In fact she couldn't act to save her life and just kept strutting her stuff. I noticed the men kept saying how hot she was, focusing on her behind!though Sam wasn't much better either, not sure what his role was.

I did keep looking at my watch as I did get quite bored and wondered when it was going to end! They could have cut an hour at least.

Silly plot with wooden actors but will appeal more to the boys.

Just back, have to say i enjoyed this a lot. mostly the action, i found it a slow starter with the plot they were developing, but the action was awesome! the new girl cannot act at all and the fact she wore white and it was intact made me chuckle a bit, but hey with all the seedy shots of her it was clear her role was eye candy only.

Some comic moments, a few cliches, overly long, but overall really enjoyed it. il give a 7, the effects were brilliant.

I was at Hatfield too, with a friend and both of our sons, we luckily got there early before the queue really started to grow and got decent seats towards the back of the screen. Trouble with Hatfield is there is hardly any incline from about 3/4 of the way down the seating and you have to look up all the time from the middle onwards.

The boys absolutely loved it, all the way home were talking about their favourite transformer, the best battle, which car they would have......infact in their words it was 'well sic, totally savage, pure sic-age'......will end up getting told off in the English Innit Thread! lol

My friend and I actually really enjoyed the film too, a lot more laughs than I expected even if it was a bit cheesey. I think if could of been quite a lot shorter, the battle at the end was far to drawn out, we all knew what the outcome was going to be and it was also hard to tell good from the bad during a lot of the battle scences too.

It's the type of film my son and husband would really enjoy watching together at the weekend and my son is already asking when can have it on DVD.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Well...
It had moments.
Dunno why Dr. Ken, Andy Daly, Alan Tudyk and John Malkovich were needed, but they were the best bits of the film.

I kinda enjoyed the first hour and a half, hit and miss and wildly random, but it was fun.
The final hour was a visual mess, a bore and a slog to get through.

Still, good graphics and great 3D.

5/10

Saw this at Beckenham yesterday. The whole process of getting in was quick and they only looked at IDs.

This one is actually not as bad as the second one. While there is still so much destruction and chaotic scenes in which you have no clue what is going on, there is at least something of a plot with some twists and turns and many infinite holes.
Leave it to Michael Bay to destroy a city in such an impressive manner that its biggest causality is not the characters themselves, but its story, editing, character development, and use of sexuality. Surpised? eh not really with all the drama in the press.
I have to say it was the funniest of the three installments even if it was cheesy. Its one of those action movies you cant take seriously or you will end up criticizing it from the start. 6.5/10 Enjoyable

I liked the film, thought it had some funny scenes and plenty of action. I wasn't planning on seeing it as missed free previews plus sucky reviews however I must be part of the moronic % who like these type nonsense things. The girl was crap and totally unbelievable.
