went to see Arcadia on Saturday evening.

The theatre wasnt exactly packed, about 3/4 full. Ok, this started out with allthe things I hate about theatre - 19th century upper class english household, inhabited by a pretentious bunch of twots who were rich enough to go to cambridge but prefer to think they got there becos they are smart, blathering about pretentious waffe enough for them to kindle these false beliefs, and with a black servant waiting on them to boot (who would probably acheive far more than them given his master's funds). I am not sure why I didnt walk out. Shame I didnt bring my AK47 lol.

There is however a kernel of interest that grows if you can stomach the hypocrisy - a debate about a 'chaos-type' theory that was happened on 200 years ago by a young student (yeah right, as if). That itself is interesting, but unfortunately you have to put up with the twots faffing around self importantly for a long time before this develops. I'd have preferred Harry potter's Chamber of Secrets, to be honest.

Well acted though, just annoying as hell characters and dull for the opening half hour. On the bright side, the play made me feel so glad that I didnt grow up in one of these upper class oxbridge-bound families or i would have capped myself in the head as a teenager, such is their mediocre dullness.

Saw Accomplice a site specific play from the Chocolate Menier Theatre last week, I really liked it, but don't expect that you are watching a "play", it was more like a series of "tasks", I felt like I was on the Apprentice! The "play" really isn't great but it was a fun exercise nevertheless. Can't really write much as it will spoil the surprise. 7/10

I saw this too but at a matinee. Too intellectual for me, but although it was an amateur production of Tom Stoppard's play, it was very well acted by the final year students of LAMDA. It did have a boring start, but I enjoyed the poetic words that is Tom Stoppard, and that kept me entertained.

aha. saw Mucky Business as well, which was contemporary and topical for london, centering on the council cleaning up westminster for the 2012 games.

well acted, interesting story, engaging scenes, but not for the kids though! quite seedy.

Well I saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. I've seen all 4 of the Lamda at Large productions and the acting has been uniformly very good indeed. Four very different plays and this one is of course the most complex, although not as bad as Stoppard's Jumpers - that really made my brain hurt!

Yes several of the characters are annoying but then this play really isn't about them, it is about much bigger themes and so I didn't feel it necessary to care about them so much. There was also the mystery of the identity of the hermit which I found interesting. My friend was seeing it for the third time (different productions) and found new things in it each time. I am not as big a fan of Stoppard as her but I am sure there was much I missed on a first viewing and would see another production if the chance came up.

Saw Cinderella last night at Trafalgar Square very good turnout but strange production with a female sounding and looking prince and a verrrrrry mature Cinderella.

I had Batman tickets for MEN on Tuesday 19th but received this email from SFF this morning.

"I regret to inform you that due to a dating error the tickets you have for 19th July are not valid. However, we can offer you tickets for the 15th or 16th July instead."

It gave an individual link and I have now managed to get tickets for 16th now, didnt offer me the option for friday tickets.

I missed Arcadia, but did see Mucky Business last weekend, I agree with Cliveas that all of the acting has been solidly good in each of the LAMDA shows I caught. Was very impressed with the three shows I saw and will be looking out for these next year. Though every time I go to the Lyric it always pours with rain!

Friendly Fires at iTunes tonight was absolutely fantastic. So much energy and so entertaining. They played over an hour, but it seemed really quick, and it was over. Thanks bevvy for taking me!
