Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
lol.personally i see the potter series as just the start, there are plenty of stories still to tell about wizards later in life - in fact the vast majority lies ahead, and in more adult orientated plots in the same way that the hobbit moved on to the Lord of the Rings. Cant wait for the Further adventures of Luna Lovegood!

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
But I mirror the first 3 books/films to the Hobbit, and the last 4 films to The Lord of The Rings. There is a disctinct growth in maturity running through these books/films. Philosopher's Stone was a kiddies book through and through. Deathly Hallows read like a factual account of World War 2, with Nazi occupation, torture, inquisitions, freedom fighters, bloodied combat, plenty of deaths of loved characters, an evil dictator who orders "cleansing" of the occupied nations who is not even "pure" himself. Rowling literally tried to describe the horrors of WW2 on a wizard canvas. Not the subject matter I expect from a children's book!raj101 wrote:lol.personally i see the potter series as just the start, there are plenty of stories still to tell about wizards later in life - in fact the vast majority lies ahead, and in more adult orientated plots in the same way that the hobbit moved on to the Lord of the Rings. Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
I do like the difference, butI prefer to have something exciting for Harry to do in the future, rather than plateauing at age 18.TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:But I mirror the first 3 books/films to the Hobbit, and the last 4 films to The Lord of The Rings. you see, Glassy, you get that dimension from reading the books, but I've only seen the films (apart from a brief attempt at Philosophers Stone).Deathly Hallows read like a factual account of World War 2, with Nazi occupation, torture, inquisitions, freedom fighters, bloodied combat, plenty of deaths of loved characters, an evil dictator who orders "cleansing" of the occupied nations who is not even "pure" himself. Mind you theres benefits from not reading the books too, it allows me to interpret events and characters my own way (as the films, lacking detail, allow you to do so). Example - my own interpretation of Voldermort is that he was a former powerful Hogwarts teacher who turned kiddie fiddler, which explains his interest in Potter more profoundly than the prophecy which tbh comes across as convoluted crap in the movie. 'Pedo-voldermort' makes more sense to me than him being the baddest man on the planet, becos hes pretty inadequate master villain if we are being honest. I want to see Harry move onto bigger smarter foes in the future.
LOL. I have decided to delay it (not the Hermione costume, I mean the movie). The series is too rich to end right now.So you going to the midnight release screening tonight, dressed up as Hermione, your favourite actress![]()

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
no not at all! Have I said something funny? Voldermort does have the manner of one of those tv kiddy fiddler villains. He's all slimey and bent. You have to agree it makes more sense than the contrived prophecy plot.canadian_turtle wrote:You sure you haven't read the books?raj101 wrote:my own interpretation of Voldermort is that he was a former powerful Hogwarts teacher who turned kiddie fiddler, which explains his interest in Potter more profoundly than the prophecy which tbh comes across as convoluted crap in the movie. Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
LOL, I would love to see how this would be marketed as a family film if Voldemort was made into a "kiddie fiddler".
