Thanks! but I still don't know what it's about. I am assuming drama, but all the recent Middle East set films were more action-based, Green Zone etc.

Baghdad 1987, Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper) is taken to see his former schoolmate Uday (also played by Cooper), eldest son to Saddam Hussein. Trapped, tortured and fearful for the safety of his family, Latif has no choice but to comply.

A chilling vision of the House of Saddam Hussein comes to life as Latif is forced to become part of Uday’s world, witness to the horror of his insane life of debauchery, excess and brutality. A world entrenched in betrayal and corruption and an experience for which he almost pays with his life on more than one occasion.

Had moments, Dominic Cooper is absolutely brilliant in it, but despite an engaging first act, the rest of the film falls into bland thriller nothingness, and the key component of the two leads having a sort of friendship is never realised so the emotional impacts of the final act seem diminished.

Thanks Ethan! It feels like that kind of a film. As people have said Middle eastern set films have been box office poison. Not sure if I am looking forward to this.
