Silly question. Did the projectionist switch the lights off at the Greenwich Odeon?

I've been put off from going for any more previews over there because (for the few I attended anyway) I found having the lights on to be just plain distracting. I can usually tolerate it when they dim them down to about 90-95%, but at this Odeon particularly, they usually only dim them down to about 60%...which I find absolutely unbearable.

Ah! That's excellent news!! In that case, I shall be returning there very soon :) I remember the last preview I attended there. Aside from the lights problem, some mofo had been wearing a bluetooth headset, and it blinked literally every 30 seconds until the end of the movie.If I'd been sitting within arms reach of that fool I would've smacked him silly.

Argh my friend has a phone llike that, and even when it was in her cotton bag, I could see it blinking away. Once I've seen it, I will keep seeing it, same as any smartphone lighting up.

Funnily enough at Whitelys, the lghts just went off and everyone went oh!

a few days after the screening and the nephew is still talking about the amazing train crash. travelling on the tube i had to assure him that train crashes like that are unusual and about the 'production values'.

we didn't see the post credits bit so that gives us yet another reason to see it again. we both loved it. 9/10 from me.

I have to agree - far-fetched but remarkable. I liked the quieter moments better though, for example when the girl does the scene at the station for the first time and all the boys are looking at her, completely enthralled. Or that opening scene showing a factory hall and a sign saying "784 days since the last accident". Then a worker slowly takes all 3 numbers down and replaces them with a single 1. You do not need anything more graphic to know what happened.

I felt bad for chuckling in my screening, but I thought "Gosh, that's perfectly done"

Yes, that was brilliant. It reminded me of the six-word story: "For Sale:Baby Shoes, Never Worn."

Stonking good movie ... yes a far fetched plot but noen-the-less enthralling ... loved the comedy lines it it too. the new ET for me. Classic.
