Means you can take Momma to the Sky bar and get a massage if the queue's not too long. You're going to make her real happy

Momma could have the make-up session and you could have the backrub.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
You know, if there was only one concert I could go to in my whole life and given that most concerts I go to are rock concerts, I think it would be Placido Domingo and Angela Gheorghiu.
I chose this concert amongst my 4 ticket Sky allocations as I thought it would be a good opportunity to give my momma a treat which I dont do often for her and for free! To be honest I thought this concert would be boring for me. Whilst I do love my movie scores (80% of my mp3 playlist are movie scores) and enjoy some classical music, I never really listened to opera singers or tenors. Never quite appealed to me...until now.
What I experienced tonight was somthing close to an out of body experience...in fact it was cosmic. Hearing these 2 people sing live was like beingn catapulted into the cosmos...scary thought actually...imagine that, a spec in the universe and no earth in sight! I felt small...so very bloody small. And quite often during the concert, my jaw literally dropped in shock and awe.
We all know who Domingo is but I never heard of Angela Gheorghiu whose voice was so otherworldly. I wouldnt say angelic but it was a voice that sounded as if she was a commanding messenger from god. Both Placido and Angela sang solos in an alternate pattern and even the orchestra had their solos too who were superb. Then of course the 2 performers began a sequence of duets and hearing both voices complementing each other really had me at their mercy...
A very puzzling thing happened though. Before the traditional ending Encore, the point where all the performers bow as if they are done for the night, a quarter of the audience left. The poor sods. Dont they know the best songs are yet to come?!?! And so SIX more songs were sung and they were 10 times more magnificent then what came before. The show was supposed to end at 10pm but they finished 10:35pm. They did start on time too. Apparantly this is the only night for this performance. I feel so priveleged to have attended this.
The face value on the tickets were £90 each. For the greatest tenor and opera singer in the world, its a price worth p*ying and even more. The fact we got to experience this for free is quite overwhelming. We were seated on level 1 seats which were good enough, not near but not far away either.
As for the Sky backstage, it certainly was very plush. The thing is, mother wanted to just sit in her seat and settle in...she's rather slow and not even a massage tempted her. Fair enough but I did check out the Sky backstge myself for 10mins. Oh and Mum told me this was the best thing ever, I believe her!

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
What a superb evening at 02 tonight for the Domingo Placido and Angela Gheorgiou concert. Had such a brilliant time - firstly backstage, had our paparazzi photos done, then the queue for the mini massage was too long so we did the mini makeover which turns out later on was a very good thing..... Lovely to have a drink with mandmc10 before the concert. MIssed bevvy, but managed to chat to her on the mobile. Our seats were Level 1, Block 103, Row K at the other end of the stage, but we still got a very good view.
The concert was just awesome, the voices, the music, the songs, first it was Placido than Angela, then Placido again and the Angela again, then together, and this went on for an hour, then an interval for about 20 minutes, and then they were back again, they kept alternating coming back on to the stage, gave their all, perfect and passionate! Then about 10 to 10, a few people walked out, probably to catch their last trains, then about 10pm they did their finale, then more people left, then they were back alternately again, like they did not want to be outdone by each other, each song better than the last, for another half an hour!
After the concert, we went backstage again, first to use the loos, as less queues and much nicer with hand wash and hand cream, then my friends were asked to join some guy messing about in the "See yourself in 3D" booth, as his backing singers. It was hilarious, and I taped them doing it! We then brought a drink to unwind, and the next thing we knew, there was wild applause as Angela turned up to see all her friends backstage! We managed to pose individually for photos with Angela, so our makeovers came in handy! What a lovely end to the event. Then it was time, to catch the last train home.
Definitely well worth the face value of my ticket of £90 and more!
