That's awesome. Just goes to show the error (or not) in allowing just about anyone to edit wikipedia pages.

So, The Guard is a little thin on the plot, but the sharp humour and Gleeson's performance make it a fine little off-the-wall black comedy. Enjoyed it despite the somewhat derivative western score and disappointing final set-piece. No need for subtitles btw, understood it fine.. 7/10
Hey dude, you've made it to 100 free films! o/ And it's only August... 8O

they were...

.....

yawn fest i actually fell asleep twice and not because i was tired.

there were some really quite funny moments in it but it was so slow, it needed a bit more pace. i also didn't understand half of it and i'm pretty darn good with accents usually.

possibly one of the worst films i've seen this year to be honest (though i can appreciate parts of it, as whole it did naff all for me)
4/10

When I saw the Virgin Media promo I said to my mate "I'm sure this is a sky screening". Until I saw the BBFC logo for the film, I was wondering if they sent us into the wrong screen.

As for the film, a few good comedy moments, was actually refreshing to hear some non-PC jokes. There were some genuine laugh out loud moments but some dull parts too (my friend admitted to falling asleep a few times). The banter between the main characters was good - although doesn't come close to In Bruges if those are the comparisons made.

And yeah, pretty weak ending.

It could have been real and they named the main character after him. Art mimics reality after all.

Thought the references (albeit extremely non-PC) to spastic were hilarious, especially after I saw someone this afternoon rounded upon for using the term retarded. Lol. No offence intended here of course.

Sorry to let the truth get in the way of a good story, but a 'septic tank' (now there's a good pc term!) came 4th in the 1,500 freestyle swimming final at Seoul in 1988!
