Tricky isn't it, even Love Never dies is closing (even with the might of the Really Useful theatre group)

speaking of free tickets, courtesy of the superific SUPAJAM (and Cliveas, no less), I am off to the prog rock side of the Cambridge Rock Festival tommorrow, my last official day out before the exams. Since I quite like Pink Floyd and Genesis (and not to mention Hobbits of course) I am quite looking forward to this trip back to the 70s oldies music scene.

Well I LOVED it, as did my friends. The first half was definitely significantly weaker, to be honest I don't really think it really got going till Money followed by Us and Them. But the second half was consistently strong including Wish You Were Here and The Great Gig in the Sky which was extremely well received. It culminated with a version of Another Brick in the Wall followed by Comfortably Numb. The pig was better IMHO than the dragon in Shrek and of course there was Pink Floyd’s original 60 ft Teacher inflatable!ansbro81 wrote:Omg. Worst concert I've ever been to.
And I've been to alot. We left at half time with a few hundred other I'd like to add.
And people on the door actually tried to talk us into staying by telling us if we stay till the end they are giving out DVD of the band. Like that was gonna make us stay.
Highlight of the night was a giant pig that came out of side of stage
Backing singer had good voice too.
Wish I didn't bother going to otherside of London tho.
Now waiting for my bus
Clearly trying to persuade you to stay with or without a DVD was stupid, but having stayed because I wanted to I was glad to receive my DVD.
Yes quite a few people left early but there were also a lot enjoying it as well. In my section some people were even dancing, I've never tried it but I suspect that dancing to Pink Floyd's music is not at all easy! And even to me the sight of fellow middle-aged men playing air guitar and imaginary drumkits did look a bit sad, but they were certainly enjoying themselves! When my friend and I were going down to the tube platform we were practically accosted by a group asking whether we were at the gig and saying wasn't it fantastic and how they were looking forward to seeing them again at the Albert Hall next year.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Tonight’s shows at London’s Landor, Arcola, Union and King’s Head Theatres have been cancelled, and Battersea Arts Centre is also closing early in response to the riots across London.
At the time of writing, no West End theatres were planning to close this evening.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I went to see The Black Diamond last week and must say it's right up there with the very best of any entertainment art form I've seen. Punchdrunk theatre group is really a class above most other theatre companies.
I have seen some negative feedback about this, but it all depends on whether you like to be passive observer or be immersed in the experience.
If you're prepared for a ride, it's simply jaw droppingly stunning. I won't spoil it for people who might be going soon with details, but it's a fantastic adventure.
Shame it's almost impossible to get tickets for it. 10/10
