TEN OUT OF TEN!!!!

WOW!

I am still shocked at discovering Caesar was actually played by an actor! It was that realistic. Awesome. Totally didn't recognise Tom Felton or Brian Cox I was that engrossed in it. I wanna see it again. Now!

Oh!! You've spoilt it for me now - you mean that they weren't real animals!!! :giggle: Much more realistic than the "old" apes in the previous films. My friend and loved it. Obviously the end sets it up for a sequel which I look forward to seeing. Vue Omni was packed - you were probably in the front row as usual, Stuartboy. We were there early and got the VIP seats. o/ 9/10

Nope! The front row at Omni is farcical - it is about two inches from the screen. I was most impressed - there was an usher/SKY girl inside the screening room and she counted me (one) and told me where there was a single seat about half way up. I call that service - saves peering in the gloom and having to ask if a seat is free etc.

Oh, did I mention I liked this film? Lol.

What next one? I thought this was a prequel? Are they redoing the Planet of the Apes again or what?

I can't remember all of the films, (should get the boxset out again) I think this was more of a reboot of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes which is 4th in the series.
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Once again, our resident expert film reviewer KK has put everything into words perfectly, and I’m sitting here like a baboon, grunting in approval!

Great story, intelligent and well paced, with amazing special effects, a dash of humour and excellent score. Enjoyed spotting references to the original films, and the iconic setting in San Francisco! I love that place.

One very tiny reservation I have is the casting of Tom Felton (would have preferred an unknown actor there) and John Lithgow (not that he does anything wrong, he was indeed very good, but I was just waiting for him to say something funny at any moment!).

And did I imagine this, or did the 3-year old Caesar do a rude hand-to-mouth gesture, when he was first taken to the vet? I'm sure few other people giggled at that moment!

Anyway, I may have to see this again tomorrow and miss Project Nim! Definitely one of this year’s best... 9/10

You could watch it next Thursday instead and don't miss Project Nim?
