London Calling has some great songs on it but on the whole is patchy. The first Clash album is still the best for me, I do wish I could have it wiped from my memory and then magically re-discover it! Killers is a good one of course, but Maiden's golden era for me is roughly '82-'88!

You lucky thing! Would love to see Maiden again.

Toyah is touring and doing some weird and wonderful locations, some even accessible to old codgers like me who don't like big venues. So I'm definitely going, even if alone. Wish Hazel O'Connor would do some shows within reach, too!

I think I'm in musical love with Marcus Foster. I might treat myself to some earphone listening in bed. This is a treat - it happens once in a blue moon due to the fact I can't sleep listening to music and my earphones hurt my ears.

Very excited as I managed to get tickets to PJ Harvey's do at the Royal Albert Hall in October before it sold out *and* will probably be able to actually see the stage! Have always wanted to go to the Royal Albert Hall so is extra exciting.

I really like the RAH both as a venue and for its location. I know the o2 is better for lots of people but it's too far east for me and I'm disappointed that so much of the focus has moved there. Some of the best London concerts I've seen have been at the RAH, though the last (Richard Hawley - would love to see him again!) was a while ago now.

The venue makes such a difference: the RFH is also accessible for me but I don't like it nearly as much, despite having seen some good people (e.g. Brian Wilson) there, too.

Not quite sure where to put this as it's more of a competition and not sure if it will be like a full gig:

In the Courtyard sessions, brought to you exclusively by Russian Standard Vodka Originals, are your chance to get up-close and personal with today's most exciting musicians in a truly original environment.

Every couple of weeks, a select audience will get to see their favourite bands perform a uniquely intimate and exclusive set at a secret London location.

We have some great acts coming up over the next few weeks playing on the Courtyard stage. For your chance to be there just choose which artist you would like to see below.

The Antlers - 2pm on 25th August

Brooklyn, New York's The Antlers have thus far had one hell of a year. Recent guests alongside Justin Timberlake on the institutional 'Tonight Show' in America, as fronted by Jay Leno, the past three months have seen extensive, sold out touring in the UK and US, and their latest album 'Burst Apart' being hailed worldwide as one of the finest albums of the year.

Kids in Glass Houses - 5.30pm on 6th September

Kids In Glass Houses are one of British rock’s finest emerging talents. Exploding from the Cardiff rock scene, the quintet are about to break into the big-time with their new album ‘In Gold Blood’.

Matt Berry - 1pm on 27th September

Matt Berry is a cult English actor, writer, comedian and musician. Best known for his appearances in The IT Crowd, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and The Mighty Boosh – Berry has recently been whipping up a frenzy with his album ‘Witchazel’, a prog-folk romp of an album, tearing his loyal fanbase away from the TV screens and hurtling them in front of the stage.
I'm a massive fan of The Antlers so desperate to win tickets for them! I'm seeing them play a special midnight gig, then if I win I'll go to bed, and be back out for this special 2pm live session. Fingers crossed. :cross:

the new drums album is so much better than their first album!

also the new rifles album is flipping great too, so doesn't even sound like them, suddenly they've changed direction and matured a bit! less mod more pop, but in a good way.
