Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
the plot holes from the original films seemed to be covered in an intelligent manner and there were entertaining nods to the main events from the movies history..Human shall not say no to ape ...the use of the term "bright eyes" ..the icarus flight .."damn dirty ape"...the lawgiver... excellent well paced film
Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Saw this at Greenwich this morning, absolutely loved it and looking forward to the next one (definite sequel on the way). laughed, almost had me in tears, gripped onto my seat in parts...9/10 from me.

Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Went to a very full Breahead this morning. To the point that people were turned away. Had a wee giggle to myself at an old guy who arrived about 10:25 when it was full muttering I am not going to sit at the front. He was lucky that someone was generous enough to give him a seat right at the front as their child sat on their knee when there were no seats.
Anyway the film was much better than I expected. I never really fancied seeing any of the Apes films so this one was the first for me. The pace of the movie was perfect throughout. The story whilst predictable was strong enough and the apes were wonderfully acted. It is a very hard thing to do to get people to sympathise with the apes even when they ran amok but well done to the film in creating that.
Must say for the 8 year time scale the film was suppose to be, no one really aged except Caesar. 8/10

Watched this today The Printworks, Manchester. It was nearly full, just the odd seat dotted about. Delayed 30 mins as they "had technical difficulties" but worth the wait - really enjoyed the film.

Saw this yesterday at Greenwich, absolutely loved it. It was amazing. Used to watch this as a child with my mum, and was very impressed with the remake. Special effects... FANTASTIC!!!
I remember being shocked the first time Caeser shouted "NOOOO" obviously forgetting at some point they were going to learn how to speak... LOL. All in all, GREAT FILM... 9/10

It's futile to be brutal, that won't get you a dime, so be human all the time.

Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
It would have got a full 10 out of me if they had a bit more about the apes in the story or even made the movie a bit longer. But i suppose the main focus of this film was the origins of the 'Rise', so i really hope they do a sequel, that would be fantastic.

Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
sorry, i have a great interest in chimps and the origin of man, hence my bias for straight 10.
i am doing a comparison of skulls of chimps, homo erectus, and neanderthals in my studies. Theres some marvellously detailed differences.

That sounds really interesting actually, maybe you can post your findings later.

Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes
definitely, evilz.
one thing, some holes in the skull become more prominent further down the evolutionary pathway. Its as if the brain forced the skull out as it grew. baby chimps dont have fontanelles (the soft 'gap' between skull bones on top of the head that human babies are born with) or supra orbital fissures (little hole in the skull above each eye). wierd shit.
