Re: Conan the Barbarian 3D
Valda suspects he wore a wig tonight to make him recognisable as she thinks people wouldn't know who he was if they saw him with the short hair.

I thought he has short hair now, as in the article you posted the other day, so this must be a wigBeate wrote:Long hair. Stupid me, why didn't I think of covering this important subject?valda wrote:Did he have long hair or short hair at the screening?

Re: Conan the Barbarian 3D
The article never said he had short hair - it said he wore it tied back. So tonight he wore it loose - no dreadlocks though.
You can even see the pink ponytail band in his hair in the last photo where he snogs his costar!

Well here is the only photos I managed to get, not brilliant as it was so dark in the room, it looks like his own hair?

Went to the Soho Hotel screening this evening as well thanks to superhero. Thought the movie was fair enough entertainment esp if you like lots of action and sword fighting sequences. It was pretty much what i had anticipated it would be like, so no surprises. Felt the scenery and cinematography were a plus but the story was weak. 6.5/10.

I think the term "mindless violence" was invented for a film like this. There really isn't much to write about a film like this, it just harks back to those types of films in the 80s - lots of blood, breasts and beer. 2/10

Re: Conan the Barbarian 3D
Same here. The highlight was meeting the other FMUKers as well as getting free drinks and nibbles.prettyxcool wrote:What a disappointment the "meet and greet" was at the Soho Hotel screening! The comp winners were asked to arrive at 6pm, with the meet and greet at 6.30pm and the screening to start at 7pm.
Several times after 6.30pm, I asked the person holding the guest list about the meet and greet, and he assured me he will call us as soon as Jason Momoa arrives, but by about 6.55pm he still had not turned up and when I asked him yet again, as everyone was now going into the screening room. I was told to go and find a good seat and he will call us, but nothing of the sort happened. After about 10 minutes, Jason was introduced and he made a quick speech, that lasted about 30 seconds and then he came and sat and watched the film with us. The cinema was dark and he had a hat on that covered his face, so we did not even get a good look at him in the flesh! I thought perhaps, they would do it after the film, but when it finished, the organisers and Jason were nowhere to be seen! It wouldn't matter so much, but comp winners were promised a meet and greet. This would have been the highlight for me, but instead, the highlight was meeting beate, cliveas, ucakpam, birovr, tomorrow72.
I thought Jason was trying to go for a "Slash" look with the top hat. Well, at least he didn't take the film too seriously and was making funny remarks during the screening.
Apart from the scenery and the looks of some of the actors, I thought the film wasn't any good. I couldn't help but compare it to Game of Thrones, which is miles better. 4/10 from me and 6/10 from my OH
