This is England, mate. People here have a "mustn't grumble" attitude.
3D films are always dark for me and I hadn't realised the cut off heads might be a projectionist issue. Adding to that, the ushers at WIQ are pretty useless. First you need to find one, then they need to understand what you're talking about, then they need to act.

Lol...ok. Swear to God if I'd been there, I would've definitely ran out to ask 'em to fix it up. I can be a real pain in the ass sometimes I never actually bother going to the ushers. I usually go straight to the ticket desk and if they're clueless, I ask for the manager.

True true but honestly, I'd rather miss an entire movie than watch it all blurry with heads chopped off. You can never repeat a first-time viewing experience so rather get it right, no?

I'm also a good complainer but it would have done no good. These mulitplexes don't really have any trained projectionists and although a complaint was made we were told at the end that they couldn't do anything about it. Couldn't or wouldn't, I wonder?? Well they could have offered all of us tickets as compensation for a wasted cinema experience. I'm only glad we had an earlier film as otherwise I would have been even more cross.

I didn't think much of what I could see of the out of focus Fright Night. I thought David Tennant gave a Russell Brand performance -- in the beginning he looked like Russell Brand (or was that only because he was out of focus?).

Glad to see so many FMUKers and to finally meet TheyCallMeMrGlass -- that was the highlight of the evening!

Ah, that's a real shame I watched it at The O2 and despite the picture being perfectly in focus with the sound loud and crisp, I did find it to be extremely dark...but I've come to expect that of all 3D movies at The O2. Strangely though, "Transformers 3" at the BFI IMAX was bright and beautifully vibrant throughout, as was "Avatar"! Why can't all 3D movies be like that? Is the IMAX just far better equipped?

I watched this at the O2 yesterday and I totally agree with all 3D films that I have seen there have been really dark. Not sure if its the screen itself or actually just the film. I will say however personally I thought this to be the best 3D (effect wise) film I've seen.

For the film itself... I quite liked it. Thought Colin Farrell was very good as Jerry. I adore David Tennant, but I didnt really rate his character much altho I did find him a little funny.

I havent seen the orignal but noticed it was an 18..... this remake was only 14A so I cant imagine it being as gorey as the first. A lot of people have said they preferred the original so I might take a looksy at that one too.

Nah, by today's standards it's not gory at all. I think it would get a 12 or at best a 15. I think there was a bit of nudity too.

Quite enjoyed the film. The plot was very straight forward with no twists. A couple of good 3D bits for a change.

Saw this at Liverpool Cineworld tonight. Was very suprised that screening was not full, however it was in one of the biggest rooms. Totally missed that fact that it was in 3D so was very suprised to be handed 3D glasses. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the 3D in this was particularily good in places (the floating embers) although I thought it made the film a bit dark. I haven't seen the original so have nothing to compare with but I enjoyed this. Not being a horror fan it was scary enough for me, and I did jump several times even though I knew something was about to happen. Much to my daughters amusement. Loved the tongue-in-cheek acting from David Tennant. Could happily watch this again.

A big thanks is also due to the Sky rep at this venue after she allowed my 17 yr old son and his 2 friends to accompany my daughter and I to see this. They had stepped in earlier to confront an irate cinema-goer who was giving her lots of verbal abuse.

Please complain people! Last time I complained about dodgy projection (this was an Odeon) I was fobbed off with 'we are very surprised as we haven't had any other complaints reported'. Grrrrrr.

RUBBISH! Can't review the film as i don't feel like I've seen it properly, although it's not particularly the kind of thing I would watch again. And don't get me started on how DARK it was with the 3D glasses. Just going to write a ranting blogpost instead!

Also very nice to see so many FMUKers. That back row was like jumping inside the internet.
