What Did You Watch Last Night?
Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I watched limitless on dvd last night, i still think it's one of my fave films that i've seen this year. i'm glad i saw it in the cinema, some of it didn't have quite the same impact on my 32" tv which seems silly small to me these days!

The Story of Film: An Odyssey.
For all you movie buffs, historians, and well anyone who just like movies, do not miss this great epic series. I watched the 1st episode on channel 4 but you can catch it again on 4 On Demand. Its 15 episodes charting the history of cinema starting with its origins. The series is narrated poetically by an Irish film critic, Mark Cousins, who places emphasis on the artistic evolution of cinema.

Its interesting to watch the first episode and compare it to Paul Merton's Birth of Hollywood on BBC shown only recently. Paul Merton covered exactly the same beginnings using the same old footage but the narrative is very different. Where Paul Merton injects a dramatic and very often humerous telling of the birth of Hollywood whilst also showing a passion for the artform itself (including making Thomas Edison seem like a mafia boss), Cousins covers the same ground in a slow burning Terrence Malick way, accenuating the art developed in these very early films without going into too much detail of the cutthroat financial world.
Both series are a joy to watch and complement each other well. Dont miss it if you love film history or just curious to know more.

Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I caught up on One Tree Hill and The Big Bang Theory :) I don't like the over sad, dramatic episodes OTH do. It seems like they use it to tie-up a lot of lose bits, they can not be bothered to put in the story, it does not add that much overall.
I've been made to watch that at times aswell, so sad! but it sounds like you willingly watched it?stuartboy wrote:John and Edward in their pants! How sad is that! Ha ha.

Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
I've started watching the TV-series Privileged, does anyone know it? It only lasted one season which is a shame (more so because I've already seen half of the episodes by now) but I am really enjoying it.

I just watched Batman Begins for the first time. Not even sure how it's possible that I hadn't seen it, especially considering how much I love The Dark Knight! It was great. Another for my silly long Amazon wish list!

I watched Love Actually. I've seen it loads of times but it's one of my favourite films.
