There are some amended lyrics, but no the songs are not originals.valda wrote:I wnder if some of the songs in Rock of Ages were written for the show storyline. I'm sure all of those couldn't have been from the 80's, although I knew quite a few.
I don't bother with the story lines for any of these sorts of shows - We Will Rock you has dreadful storyline but great songs![]()
RE beer ladies, I didn't even realise they were for sale, I thought they were props they were trying to get people to use

A huge thanks to a_person again for the tickets on Wed night....I had a great time, much better than I expected!!! I only recognised a few of the songs but was very entertained throughout!!! I would recommend seeing this :) If you can avoid getting the back rows of the stalls though as thats where we were and it cuts out the top half of the stage!!
Also thanks to prettyxcool as I took her advice and we got to meet the cast after!!! They were so friendly and smiled for photos with us and signed a few autpgraphs! A great night out!!! :)

Just seen rock of ages for second time
Still really enjoyed the show. And preferred eats this tine. On royal circle. But frOnt row.
Only thing we thought we noticed drew (main character). Was miming at beginning last time and again tonight. And later on Justin Lee Collins was miming too when he came out as angel up stairs. We were so close and his mouth didn't move when his voice was heard at all
Was only thing that made me little disappointed tonight apart from that tho I loved it. Brought a few different people with me this time.

Maybe they were resting their voices? I guess once you do many shows, you may lose your voice.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I read on Twitter that on Monday when I went that Sherrie was an understudy who had never had a full run through before as Amy Pemberton had had to drop out at the last minute that night.....can't find the tweet now though, it was congratulating her for doing so well in the circumstances.
I wouldn't have realised at the time as I wasn't that familiar with the cast, other than JLC and Shane Ward, but looking at the cast photo's I think it might be right.

Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I'm jut back from the second viewing and must give a huge thanks to A_person who swapped seats and let me sit with Funthing and my 2 mates behind me. She ended up coming and sitting next to us, as there was a lot of empty seats at the front. Row F this time
Fatstic seats and no one sitting in front of me so even better.
I really enjoyed it again, all you have to do is ignore the story and just have a good time with the songs. There were some hecklers tonight which was funny, and the cast fed off that, and they were clearly having a good time. I was talking to a beer girl and she was telling me there was a real tight turn around for the next show, so they got about 3o mins before having to do it all again. 8 shows a week is pretty hard going on the voice so well done all. I will definately go and see it again once the cast has settled in, they will only get better and better.
Shane Ward's voice was strong tonight I noticed so he will be improving in leaps and bounds, I'm sure. Pop singing is so much easier that Theatre singing.
Saw Canadian_turtle, jeamcomp Sunny Saver and Mum, and of Course Funthing and A_Person.
Frist time that Hoodie and Granny met

Tilly I'm so grateful for your tickets, I do hope you manage to get to see it, I think the previews go on for a while longer.
I forgot to say taht there where kids there, like 6/7 years old. totally inappropriate show for them. I bet it was because of the Glee song
