Has anyone seen Dreamboats & Petticoats? Is it good?

My work are arranging a trip with tickets for £20, wondering if to take my mum as she missed the ROA tickets.

Yes, yes, yes, it's lovely, all songs from the late 50s and early 60s wound into a lovely silly story.

Awwww, I should have got this as a birthday present for my Grandma SS then. She would have loved this. She was about 40-50 herself then so would have known all the songs.

£20 is quite good. I remember Beate posting a deal for this last year where tickets were £10 (on offer for a very short time though).

I've seen it for 10 pounds on the offer, had seats in the royal circle. It's ok, but not sure if it's worth p*ying 40 pounds for 2 tickets... It doesn't have anything remarkable in it (I mean set, costumes, special effects etc which is an essential part of a West End Show! ) nothing outstanding...nothing got stuck in my memory...(and I was 100% sober!) Story is Ok but a bit slow, nice RocknRoll songs... I remember standing up and dancing in the second half... and that's about it... To be honest I've enjoyed Sister's Act, which I've seen within days from Dreamboats and Petticoats much much more! You may be able to come across something better if you have a budget of 40 pounds to spend?

You can redeem yourself by taking me to The Ratpack at Christmas time, I was around 20-30 when Dean Martin was young .

Now I really am feeling old as I do remember Dean Martin in film and on TV. My dad was a great fan!

I really enjoyed it when I saw it at a midweek matinee in February, having got a good deal at the TKTS booth. Maybe it helps to be a bit older so as to enjoy revisiting that period of musical history, but the main thing for me was that it was the perfect antidote to gloomy reality. In a group it would probably be even more effective.

When is your pension money coming through again? You can go with ejwrank to The Ratpack - can't be expected to sit through 2.5 hours of music I am unfamiliar with!
