for freebies of course, but if you're not lucky with that, the only discount (besides standard things such as dayseats) I have come across is a postcard you can grab in the theatre that will give you 50% off 1 ticket when you b*y another for full price.
Yes, I have seen a similar offer, thank you, but there's only one of me. Why can't they charge half-price for one instead - comes to the same discount and they would sell one seat rather than none!
I expect there will be offers in time (still waiting for these for Ghost, too); just a matter of waiting for the initial interest to slacken slightly.

You can always go to the box office, wait for someone to b*y a full priced ticket and then step in behind them and b*y the 50% one

Seriously, I am that keen that if I thought anyone would turn up at the Box Office and p*y the face value, I would be skulking there ready to ask her/him to pair up. I have done that elsewhere but it takes a lot of bottle to approach a total stranger and of course, you would probably be seated together, too.

I went to see the American Opera/Broadway musical last night, Street Scene. The highlight was the exceptionally beautiful score by Kurt Weill. I am not sure about the storyline itself based on a Elmer Rice novel. It's based on the goings on over 2 days in the sweltering hot summer in New York of 1943 in a mixed race community. The singing was absolutely top notch, especially in the 2nd half when they had the Lewisham Choral society belting out numbers from the Grand Tier area.
A few people mentioned the band as being overloud, as they've been placed upstage and it overshadowed some of the character's words and the first half is quite long clocking in at around 1.5 hours.
Also notable was the staging, in which they used a giant chalk board as the "New York street scene", so people could graffiti on the pavement.
But it is all about the score by Kurt Weill and that is something everyone will enjoy. 8/10

Interested to read this, sh, as I had a ticket for Thurs eve and had long been looking forward to it but couldn't go in the end. Won't get another chance as the run is sold out; also, mine was a £10 preview ticket but they are much more during the main run! Glad you seem to have enjoyed it.

For those who've seen Rock of Ages, I just found a behind the scenes video where Justin Lee Collins (Dennis) and Simon Lipkin (Lonny) film the green scene sequence from their duet:
