I have just called Cineworld Customer Services who in turn called Cineworld Greenwich The O2 for me who have confirmed that their screening will be on Saturday 1st October (not a typo by Sky!) so it will NOT clash with the Lion King screening which is on the 2nd October. It seems that everywhere else including the other London locations this will be on Sunday 2nd though.

Just noticed that this is directed by Charles Martin Smith, who was in The Untouchables and American Graffiti.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001747/

Getting very good reviews in the US apparently.

I never really trust IMDB for ratings I have to admit. Not that I particularly trust Rotten Tomatoes either, though it's 84% fresh at the moment from 60 reviews.

It's actually done quite well this weekend in the States. It's been narrowly beaten by Moneyball into 3rd place. Abduction was actually in 4th place

It's a little annoying to have to be at the Cineworld Greenwich a whole hour before the film starts just to get balcony seats (they go within 20 minutes tops) but they are worth it. Canadian_turtle arrived at 10.20am and got just about the last seat.

I absolutely adored this film. Top-notch cast, beautiful cinematography and soundtrack, great story, and best of all, it was a true one. Winter the dolphin is alive and well and has a website, which I will be visiting in a minute. And if you didn't have at least a few tears in your eyes at the end when they showed the disabled people who were helped with those prosthetic legs, like Winter was helped with a tail, then you have a heart made of stone. It wasn't saccharine though, it was just a moving story about a dolphin who lost his tail and was helped by a bunch of people, including an 11-year old boy who completely came out of his shell. I would have called the film "Dolphin Tail" though. Or even better, "Winter's Tale". But hey, it was wonderful all the same. I want to see this again now! The 3D, though not adding much really, was not a problem and did not darken the colours at all, and it gave the water scenes (and there were plenty) a bit of depth.
