Saw Real Steel in Kingston last night. Having read the description, I didn't have high expectations of this film. However I actually enjoyed it. It was like a mix of Transformers, Rocky, the Champ, Cinderella Man with a little bit of ET thrown in for good measure. The ending was predictable - as were the baddies. However, despite all the fighting (robot on robot) I would recommend it as a good family film.
Dakota Goyo will be breaking some hearts in about ten years' time. Not really sure what an established actor like Hugh Jackman was doing in it - maybe he just wanted to have a bit of fun.

Lol! My sincere apologies again :-) I do feel like I'm missing something however. Where did you post about the screening being cancelled? The only post of yours I could find was this one:

Odd, I guess my post didn't post! But I def wrote one to the effect of what I wrote just above. We waited till about 7pm, until the manager told us it wasn't gonna work. Cos they have digitised all their cinemas now, all films are remotely controlled from some central hub, so if the file corrupts there is nothing the cinema can do about it. Bring back reels and projectionists I say!!

Yes, you definitely did write it because Beate even pointed it out to me...and then I "corrected" her.
Lesson learnt. Never correct Beate :nono:

I was so looking forward to seeing this tonight - but they gave out way too many tickets - the cinema was completely full practically an hour before the movie even started - it was insane :(

They do oversubscribe sometimes, what cinema were you at? Hopefully you'll get a chance to see it again!

She posted all over the Wanted threads (WIQ and Shaftesbury) that she needed new tickets as her screening was cancelled!
