Cinema also fairly empty at Liverpool 1 tonight. I enjoyed this film, thought it had a decent storyline and I liked the raport between Ren and Willard. Watching Willard learn to dance was quite entertaining. I liked the line dancing sequences too, think it showed that the 'youngsters' were fully immersed in wanting to dance whatever the genre. Although the audience tonight was mostly female, the few males that had braved the showing also seemed to be enjoying the film. It was a fun film, ideal for mid-week entertainment.

This is the first free film I am going to see. Interested to see what it is going to be like. Never seen the original.

Saw this last night in a surprisingly busy Wester Hailes.

Film had its moments but think I prefer the earlier version which I believe is on TV next week.

Could not help thinking the femail lead was like a young Jennifer Anniston.

CONTAINS SPOILERS
Saw this last night in Wimbledon. Cinema about 50% full. I saw the original back in 1984 (so that dates me!) and quite honestly this wasn't much different. It's an OK teen flick (as it was back in 1984). Julianne Hough is very sweet but is a complete Jennifer Aniston clone. I could see them playing sisters (or even mother/daughter) in a few years' time. I really loved Maggie-Elizabeth Jones and her sister Mary-Charles Jones who played Ren's cousins. For me their cheeky grins and dimples completely stole the show. There were a couple of plot-holes - i.e. Ariel led her father to believe that Ren had beaten her up (or didn't deny his assumption that he had) but nothing was done about this. And the next day her bruises had all but disappeared. Maybe this was edited out to keep the film shorter - but because of that this part really did not make sense. Even the fight at the end with Chuck just fizzled out into nothing - again to keep the film within its time limit. I feel they could have done a lot more to improve on the original

I went too see this in Cardiff last night have never seen the earlier version so i couldn't really compare it but thought it was a very boring the characters were uninspired and it didn't hold my interest in fact halfway through i kept thinking would i ever get these couple of hours of my life back, a few of the other audience must have been thinking the same thing as they walked out half way through, the dancing in the film was awful as well have seen much better dance films than this definitely no more than a 1 out of 10 from me.

I saw this last night at Wimbledon, it has to be one of the worst films I've seen for a while. I have seen the original (which is ok for a bit of fun) so knew what to expect in the main. The first half an hour is mildly entertaining but after that it's just awful, boring, cliche, trite etc etc. Couldn't stand it any longer and left after about 80mins.
1/10 as there were a few nice shots near the beginning.

Saw this at an almost empty Leeds/Bradford Odeon last night, since this was my one my childhood fav films i couldn't wait to see it, and i wasn't disappointed, i though it was equally as good as the original, nice to see some of the original costumes used and some of the original lines were used. 7 out 10

Saw this at what must have been a 60% full screen last night. After all the hassle i dealt with yesterday, i was just glad to be sitting down. I wasn't expecting much after the reviews i've been reading but was pleasantly surprised as i quite enjoyed the movie. Never saw the original so can't compare but some really funny bits and moving bits too.

7/10
