Liked this quite a bit and was better than expected. Didn't think I would get the Robot Boxing thing but some how it just worked. Jackman and the boy also interacted well. Was a nice movie, easy to watch an enjoy. 7/10.

It's a good movie and in the end they showed humans are still superior then robots.

Let's definitely hope that Real Steel is better than some of Mr Levy's other 'howlers'.

Anyone remember The Pink Panther starring Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau!

... or are people still trying to forget - LOL :D

Bang on the nail there, a real treat -- I like this flick a lot -- yes its stupid - yes it's dumb, but its very Rocky equse and pulls at the heart strings in all the right places -- I was really surprised by the amounts of free screenings this flick as got to the general public up and down the country its wonder it will make any decent money --but it deserves to do so it's truly a great all round family movie treat

dumb but fun, Rocky for Robots, even down to Hugh Jackman being too short to be a heavyweight boxer as was Stallone! an unintentional detail there lol. Like Rocky, it wasnt just a dumb movie, there were even a few moments of subtlety when you looked for them. No cameo from real boxers though?

The kiddo seemed to be playing ALL the characters in the Rocky films combined - Apollo Creed, the old guy trainer and even Mr T.

But what was going on with that Bull v robot scene at the beginning? Animal cruelty or what?? Or a nod to 'Raging Bull'?

I never thought it at first, but its actually quite believable that machines might take over from humans in lethal combat sports at some point in the future, there will come a point when people are just too well informed to take the risks of fighting, as we are seing with boxing today where the real promising future progidies are leaving to play other safer sports. Actual boxing today is full of hasbeens and nobodies.

This film made me want to be 10 years old again :)
I enjoyed it but all the sentimental stuff was both naff and unneccessary .... Fighting robots are where it's at! 7/10

Saw this film with my 9 year old son, he said that it was the best film he'd ever seen. I can see what he means, it was excellent, just what it 'says in the tin'.
