Re: The Ides of March
I wonder how true to life all the political horse trading really is that goes on in this film. I suspect sadly that much of it is all too real, where even the most principled people must comprimise in order to get on.
It was a good film although I'm not sure it's the kind of film I would recommend to everyone. If you don't like to think to hard when going to the cinema then this isn't the film for you.

Re: The Ides of March
I had an interesting discussion with my friend about who would be Caesar and would be Brutus in Clooney’s Ides of March.
We could definitely agree on who would be Brutus (Stephen/Gosling) but we had a totally different take on Caesar!!!
I thought it was obvious that Paul (Seymour Hoffman) was Caesar; she thought Mike (Clooney) was Caesar… both could work I guess!
What do you think? The entire internet seems confused about it as well!

I'd go for Paul as he was shafted out - Mike wasn't.

Re: The Ides of March
I loved "Breaker High." It was so cheesy but adorable, better than a lot of the other teen oriented programmes on at the time! Kill me now :\canadian_turtle wrote:May I suggest you watch Breaker High?aruif wrote:Ryan is great, he really can do no wrong!

Re: The Ides of March
Oh don't get me wrong, I loved it too when it originally was on. But its cheesiness and Ryan's performance aren't exactly up to par to the work he's done recently

I guess they've gotta start somewhere eh? I think he had good comedic timing and an awesome screen presence for someone of that age, he developed his skills by taking on such twisted roles later on
I loved him on "Ready or not" as well, lol. Man I loved the Canadian shows growing up!
