as we are still debating about the twists and other weird stuff... has anybody else noticed the strange reflection/light from time to time in the characters eyes??

No idea. One of many confusing aspects to this one. It almost feels as if there was another thread to this that they decided to drop during editing, but didn't cut enough that was related to it.
That must be it!

If dinosaurs like this were still around (though I do think there are still a few!) we would not have many writers on FMUK !
:bwl: that was a sign of those times surely 8-)

This film had me captivated and jumping out of my seat while waaaaaaaaing sharply. Very well done and keeps you guessing till the end.

 9/10

I think everyone is still guessing.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
he felt guilty because he survived while others didn't, so self-harming.
BTW I thought Florence lived because she only had a sip of the drink and then spilt it and Maud died because she drank the whole glass.
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. I was twitching in my seat with the different 'ghostly' bits. Even got OH engrossed while the fellow sitting next to snored  9/10

This must be another film which receives higher ratings from the general public than from the critics, at least if Time Out (2 stars) is any indication.
he had his own set of ghosts. Loneliness makes a person more open to seeing ghosts like the wee bullied boy and the boy who died. Robert's ghosts didn't roam they seemed to be confined to his room
Well as usual, I'm not in agreement with the praise heaped on this. We were distinctly underwhelmed and didn't really find this scary at all...atmospheric but not scary. I agree that the ending is very ambiguous and the film did at least produce a bit of discussion as to what happened (husband and I didn't agree on the ending but we did agree that neither of us particularly cared!).

But very glad to see so many FMUKers and thanks to a_person for saving us seats -- the back row was filled with us.
