What a lovely night I had tonight at a Launch Party for a new corporate magazine at a posh City hotel. As soon as you walk in, loads to drink and then non-stop food passing you by! mini-burgers, mushroom risotto cakes, fish cakes, veggie tartlets, tuna tartlets, gazpacho, all really good sizes, not just one bite! There was pink champagne, some interesting pink gin, and ready mixed cocktails. Finally, fed up with cocktails we asked for tea and coffee and we got it! Great service.

Nice glossy magazine too. I picked one up for you too Beate. Even got a small(!) section called Film Club - with a preview of an up and coming film: My Week with Marilyn. Would love to see this - fascinated by her. Has a terrific cast, Dominic Cooper, Kenneth Brannagh, Judi Dench, Emma Watson and Eddie Redmayne. And a forum - What movies have you seen recently that you recommend :D

ooh, forgot to mention the magician there, Ben. The best I have ever seen. Took my business card shook it, and we saw it disappear from his hand. He took his wallet out, unzipped one of the pockets and my card was in there! How did he do that? Another trick was he gave a pack of cards to someone to hold, then told her to squeeze it tight then he clicked our champagne glass and said he has turned the pack of cards to glass, and then asked her to show it to us and indeed it was turned into a square block of glass! Amazing! And then he kept getting things out of from behind my ears, a pen, some real coins, and a big plastic coin, turned a £20 note into £50 and then back again in front of our eyes, after we inspected it was definitely a normal £20 note. Very fast with his hands and I just can't catch him out! 8O

Thanks for picking up a mag for me. I was just simply too tired last night, even though the venue was around the corner from my office. In fact, I am not much better now - I could go to sleep again!

Aah, poor you Beate. You need some pick me and up and go - i.e. lots of vitamins! Try Berocca? Saw it advertised on TV. :giggle:

Hope you feel better soon!

How was your dinner at the Savoy on Thursday, SS? with Clarissa Dickson Wright?

Had a really nice time at the annual "Fire & Ice" event at De Vere Canary Wharf, where they first dish up a lot of scrumptuous hot bowl food and drink, then take you ice-skating. We skipped that part, but had loads of food and got a goody bag each with chocolates and a Christmas cracker in it. Yay! The champagne was won by someone else.
